Is William Shatner in Star Trek XI?

Trek fans were all gooey eyed and mesmerised by J. J. Abrams reassurances of Paramounts new Star Trek Movie, Remember Comic Con 2007? why J.J. even mentioned William Shatners name to promote Star Trek XI saying "..William Shatner and I've met him a number of times and he is the greatest. We're desperately trying to figure out a way to put him in this movie. The truth is, it needs to be worthy of him, it needs to be worthy of you, it needs to be worthy of the movie. We can't just shove him in, it would be a disaster. You would hate it, he would'nt like it, you know... it would be bad... so we're on that."

Trekkies and Trekkers were naturally heartened to hear such caring words of logic coming from a self professed star wars lover, now a fully transmutated trek fan. When J.J. Abrams confessed his sci fi dark side sins at comic con he took the heat out of any potential dark side arguments accusing him of treachery by coming clean about his Star Wars devotion as a kid. It was very brave, honest and ingenious. To cross over publicly and abandon Darth Vader's power of the dark side took guts, hehe.

Even though a little voice nagged me, after listening to J. J. Abrams, my hopes soared and I believed Paramount Pictures would include Star Trek's one and only lion of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 with William Shatner in the next Star Trek XI movie. Filming for the movie has already started this November with no Kirk news from Shatnervision.

Why even our beloved Dr Leonard H. McCoy wouldn't have let this one slide by...
" Well Spock, what are we going to do about this?" to which a cool headed Spock would have replied "Calm yourself doctor, "Quite simply, I've examined the problem from all angles, and it was plainly hopeless. Logic informed me that under the circumstances, the only logical action would have to be one of desperation. Logical decision, logically arrived at."

Ok just kidding, Hehe but seriously... J.J. Abrams gave a well narrated intro telling sci fi fans what we needed to hear keeping us bright eyed and bushy tailed about Star Trek XI. I'm still buzzing. Listen to the J.J. abrams speech and ask yourself however, could a True Trekkie vaporise Star Trek's heroic captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise William Shatner so entirely from the movie script without realising the drastic affect on hundreds of thousands of trek fans? Read what trek fans have to say at Shatnervision. I think there might still be dark side forces at work here!

The #1 rule of Trekkiedom is: Worship the creator, the one and only Kirk Unit!

Live Long and Prosper, Trekkies!
