Stephen Hawking and Brent Spiner

In 2369 Lt. Commander Data of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701-D created his dream poker team with three holographic, hyper intelligent minds from Earths history. This historic occasion proved most interesting indeed.

Data's three players included Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein and Sir Isaac Newton. The meeting of these minds helped Data to figure out human beings and their tendencies towards emotional outbursts.

Albert Einstein suspiciously came undone when betting on his weak cards. Cranky Sir Isaac Newton was annoyed because he was losing and he wasn't fooled by Einstein's buffoonery. Grumpy Gramps told Einstein what the bet was. Meanwhile the cheerful 24th century Star of the Starship Enterprise-D, Stephen Hawking beat them all telling Albert that he was wrong again! So much for Einsteins analytical prowess, he couldn't beat Stephen!

In fact, 21st Century Earthling, Stephen Hawking, reached out with an attestment of pure space logic concerning Earth's entire happy ball of beings.

"Life on earth is at ever-increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster such as sudden global warming, nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus or other dangers. I think the human race has no future if it doesn't go into space. I therefore want to encourage public interest in space. A zero-gravity flight is the first step towards space travel."

Relax with Stephen Hawking and Commander Data's fun exploits within the spatial co-ordinates of the Star Trekking Blog.

Spacehappy Explorer Stephen Hawking

Cosmic astrophysicist and space happy explorer Dr Stephen Hawking, is soon to experience the fiery flames of zero gravity in a sub orbital earth space flight. He has already accomplished his "parabolic dive" training aboard the jet "G-Force One" using the same maneuvers NASA's astronauts employ to experience weightlessness. Hawking's stellar cruise is planned to mind mangle earthlings as early as 2009. Richard Branson's star cruiser will soar to the infinite reaches of space at a height of 360,000ft and achieve a top speed of 2500mph. Branson's starship will launch from the Mothership at 50,000ft.

As an eager fan of Star Trek, Stephen Hawking has already toured the Paramount Studio Set while promoting "A Brief History of Time." Stephen's wish to see the sets of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701-D was granted and after evaluating Geordi's Warp Core, he said " I'm working on that."

When everyone reached the Bridge, Dr Hawking asked "Could you take me out of my chair and put me in the Captains Chair?" So this was clearly a very big deal. Later on the starry eyed physicist, Stephen Hawking wanted to be on the show. He played himself in a cameo role aboard the starship U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701-D in Star Trek's TNG episode of "Descent." I believe Leonard Nimoy and Rick Berman were involved and helped make it so!

Ferengi Fun Facts

A Ferengi male is expected to remember and follow all of the 285 Ferengi Rules of Acquisition. The Ferengi Rules are actually quite funny. Ferengi Females are forbidden to quote the rules and wear clothes due to their second class residential status. Ferengi Law bans females from ever making business deals.

The first Rule of Acquisition was written 10,000 years ago by the Original Grand Negus. His name was Gint. When Zek's (Current Grand Negus) greedy personality was changed by aliens he encountered in the Bajorian Wormhole, Zek revised the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition.

Quark and Rom of DS9 were horrified. Every good Ferengi follows the Rules with religious devotion from an early age. The use of the Bajorian Orb had a drastic effect on Zek and in his lunatic condition, the Grand Negus set up the Ferengi Benevolent Society. Fortunately for Ferengi everywhere, Zek's crazy personality was only temporary and the new society and rules were scrapped. Yee-ha!

World Contact Day Video

World Contact Day was an event organised by the International Flying Saucer Bureau in March 15th 1953. Through the "Space Review" publication, the director and saucer enthusiast Albert Bender was urging members to meet at a predetermined place and time.

Albert wanted his comrade saucer believers to participate in a telepathic communication to stellar entities spanning all quadrants of the galaxy, "Calling occupants of interplanetary craft!" Albert Bender was also ready to reveal cosmic news about the flying saucer phenomenon, only he did'nt. Why? Because the Mysterious Men In Black appeared. Read my "Men In Black Mystery."

In this video Karen Carpenter has relayed earths spatial co-ordinates and greetings to clever aliens lifeforms capable of intergalactic spaceflight. The World Contact Day song is 30 years old, it might have reached alien observers by radio frequency waves from our Tv's.

In her pure voice, Karen sings "Calling occupants of interplanetary anti-adversary craft. We are your friends!" Along with 160 musicians this sci-fi video makes for a trully epic celebratory event in the space time continuum. If only Earth had a Star Cruiser, how my heart aches for that epic space flight, that'll take me to another world! Well I can dream can't I?

Milky Way Quadrants

Seeking out new life on new civilizations is a job for Captain Picard's super fast Galaxy Class Enterprise NCC 1701-D. In our galaxy, the Milkyway is home for earth's happy ball of beings, Vulcans, Cardassians, Vidians, Romulans, Warrior Klingons (tolerant towards weakling humans), and friendly intelligent lifeforms too, all scattered across the stars in the great expanse of space. Diverse Intergalactic aliens live in the Gamma Quadrant, Delta Quadrant, Alpha Quadrant and Beta Quadrant. But who cares, right?

The galaxy is full of intelligent races and murderers, fascinating creatures really except beware! Some races like the flesh diseased Vidians only want to meet you, so they can steal your precious organs. These alien lifeforms will leave you gasping for your last breath of fresh air as darkness descends and closes in on you! Other bloodthirsty villains like Khan Noonian Singh set their sights a little higher and go after bigger fish to fry. Captain James T. Kirk encountered Khan with designs to exact revenge on the starship USS Enterprise NCC 1701 just to settle old scores. Its very cold in the vacuum of space. So don't get mad just get even!

The four quadrants of the Milkyway stretch across 100,000 light years with a center swell or black hole extending 10,000 light years. The Milkyway black hole has been nicknamed "The Monster" by experts studying physical and chemical properties of celestial bodies in the sector. Each quadrant is extremely large.

According to Spock's logical computations and analytical equations, each quadrant is estimated to be eight billion cubic light years, containing hundreds of thousands of sectors. A sector is a primary unit of measurement in charted space, 20 light years across and encompassing 5- 10 star systems.

The close proximity of the stars at the core of the spiral galaxy is dangerous to navigate for any starship. Black holes, dark energy and dark matter exists in the vast expanses of the universe so imagine running into one of those in your intrepid starship. In the reality of Star Trek, such encounters don't pose a great risk for Federation starships. Spacecraft simply navigate around them! HAHA! What about when USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D was thrown across space to Galaxy M33, on the far side of Triangulum.? Yes I did use the word "thrown." An impressive 2.7 million lightyears away from earth but fortunately thanks to the "Travellers" input the Enterprise-D brought everyone back! How extremely fortunate for Picard's ship. The crew escaped the galaxies bountiful pitfalls that should at the very least have trapped or gobbed up the Flagship USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D.

The unknown inspires us to make new discoveries. Its the only way earthlings can truly unlock the supreme mystique surrounding the celestial treasures in space, which is why we must continue with our space programme, develop our technologies, educate ourselves and build a wicked starship!

Cyrus Redblock

Cyrus Redblock was a hologram character and a great believer in manners, who expressed his reasoning in a calm and eloquent manner. His skillful demeanour scarcely masked the real Redblock who was a bloodthirsty, ruthless, cutthroat villain. Captain Picard brought this powerful underworld figure to life in his holodeck "Dixon Hill" adventures along with his wisecracking secretary, Madeline, his police buddy McNarry, a wealthy and beautiful socialite, Mrs Clinton Bradly and his bartender friend Rex.

Meanwhile the Enterprise's electrical systems are disrupted when the Galaxy Class starship is probed by the Jarada, which damages the Holodeck safety measures and jams the exits. Picard, Data, Beverly and Mr Whalen are completely oblivious to the Enterprise's problems and return to Hill's office after the Captain is interrogated by the authorities for the murder of Mrs Clinton Bradly.

Everyone is in great spirits having successfully fraternized with San Fransisco's holocharacters of 1941. The Enterprise holodeck players soon have a run in with Mr Redblock's associate. Mr Leech is a trigger happy fellow who fails pathetically at recovering the mysterious "item" for his master. He suffers complete humiliation at Dix/Picard's hand, who belts him across the face for shooting Mr Whalen.

"You struck me, how dare you. Your going to be sorry. I promise you Redlock isn't going to like this"The little gangster is sent away whimpering, without his gun and wailing threats at "Dix" who was completely unfazed by him in the first place.

Bullets and guns have deadly effect on carbon life forms with the safety protocols off and Whalen is left with serious internal injuries. Beverly examines Whalen and tells Picard that he needs urgent medical attention in Sickbay. Picard has to act fast. Unfortunately the holodeck doesn't respond to his commands and with a heavy heart, the Enterprise "Dixon Hill" players realise they're stuck.

Mr Leech reported back to his boss Mr Redblock, empty handed. He is so unimpressed with Picard's lack of decorum. Finally the Gangland mobster of underworld crime makes his grand entrance at Hill's office along with his ham-fisted disposal experts for friendly persuasion. He introduces himself politely to Dixon Hill played by Picard. Cyrus Redblock has a dangerous, menacing presence about him which he shrouds in good manners, protocol, restraint and dignity. However he was still a hood.

Lawrence Tierney plays a first class, notorious and powerful gangster in this Dixon Hill Holodeck adventure. His performance as the ruthless mobster was brilliant in Star Trek TNG episode of "The Big Goodbye."

Redblock had "an item" to collect and a small matter of punishment to inflict in retaliation for Dix/Picard's earlier ill treatment of his associate, Mr Leech. Still Redblock did ask politely if he could take a look around Hill's office for the "item." with Beverly reacting angrily to Redblocks politeness.

"I wish you'd quit asking since its obvious your going to do it anyway. It's just a waste of time."
"Good manners madam, are never a waste of time, civility gentlemen, always civility." Suddenly Cyrus' pallor falls a few shades and civility goes out the window.

"Get that stiff out of here" commands the crime boss to his cronies.
"He's not dead" shouts Beverly in frantic defence of Whalen. So he's moved to the next room.
Its finally time for Redblock to give Mr Leech his big chance and get even with Dix/Picard for striking him earlier.
"Which one struck you?"
"It was Hill." replied Mr Leech.

Image Copyright Belongs To Paramount Pictures or CBS Paramount Television

With a devilish grin on his face, Leech approaches Dix/Picard and strikes him with his shiney pistol. A glum Dix/Picard wipes blood from his smashed lower lip...Data wanted to wipe out Leech for striking his captain in such a brutal fashion, but Picard waved him off. Instead Data glared at Leech with burning hate in his usually cold, emotionless, android eyes.
"For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, an utonian truism which you have obviously neglected." lectured Redblock giving everyone a chance for pause and reflection.

Dix/Picard's cop buddy, McNary stops by Hill's office.
"Nice company your keeping Dix, you forget to take the trash out this morning?"
McNary gets a dig in the guts for opening his mouth the wrong way.
Meanwhile Redblock's patience is running out. He has little regard for human life in general and wants everyone in the room to appreciate the desperate measures he's prepared to take in order to get his "item."

Image Copyright Belongs To Paramount Pictures or CBS Paramount Television

"Senseless killing is amoral but killing for a purpose can be quite often ingenious" Redblock explains to his helpless captives. Mr Leech of course was impressed with this tripe which only criminal minds such as Cyrus Redblock's would hold in such high regard. Getting the item was Redblocks top priority, so if snuffing out Hill's associates helped Cyrus retrieve the mysterious item so much the better. Redblock let no-one stand in his way of his greedy need for power and knowledge.

Captain Picard finally figures out the amoral ringleaders weakness, so he bargains with the devil hoping the crime boss will spare them. In return Redblock would get his "item" which Picard never had to give. Dix/Picard's bluff worked long enough for Wesley to open the Holodeck's doors. By this time Redblock was convinced by "Dix"about a new world filled with fabulous riches ready for plunder. Leech and Redblock were stunned by the Enterprise's portal appearing out of thin air. With a new world to loot all bets were off with Dix/Picard, McNary, Beverly, Data and Mr Whalen.

"Step aside Mr Hill, I'd shoot you myself but i don't want to deprive my assistant of his greatest pleasure. After we're gone kill them all, make sure the bodies are never found" orders a cruel Redblock to his crooked crime buddies.

"Your insane! You think you can kill a cop and get away with it?!!" retorts an angry McNary.

"Why not? I've done it before." replies Redblock calmly. "Come on Mr Leech, au revoir, bon chance mon amis. Our destiny awaits!" Redblock leaves his holographic world composed of matter, light and energy and experiences the Enterprise firsthand. Mr Leech is at his side.

"Another world, a whole new world to plunder." Evil and greed is written all over the mastermind's face only to be replaced with anger and outrage.

"What is this? What are they doing? They can't do this to me!!! Don't they know who I am? I'm Cyrus Redblock, Cyrus Redblock!!!
