Science Fiction Spaceship Quiz

I spliced these cool spaceships together to test your sci-fi wits. Have fun guessing:

Which of these science fiction spaceships were initially christened Gemini 12 and USS Yorktown for their pilot episodes?

Serenity - Firefly - Captain "Mal" Reynolds
USS Enterprise NCC 1701 - Star Trek - Captain James Kirk
NSEA Protector - Galaxy Quest - Jason Nesmith/Commander Taggart
Borg Cube - Star Trek - Borg Queen
The Tardis - Dr Who - The Doctor
Planet Express Ship - Futurama - Bender Bending Rodríguez
Klingon Bird of Prey - Star Trek III The Search for Spock - Commander Kruge
USS Reliant NCC 1864 - Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan - Khan Noonien Singh
Darth Vader's TIE Fighter - Star Wars - Vader
Jupiter 2 - Lost in SpaceProfessor John Robinson, Robot B-9
Doomsday Machine - Star Trek TOS episode #35 - Planet Killer
Colonial Shuttle - Battlestar Galactica - Imperious Lizard Leader
Narcissus - Alien - Ellen Ripley
General Sarris' Spaceship - Galaxy Quest - Saris
Aries 1B Earth/Moon shuttle - 2001: A Space Odyssey - Dr Dave Bowman

Which intergalactic space vessel is the odd one out and why?

Live Long and prosper, trekinators.

  1. Without doing a search, my guess is the original Enterprise.

  4. I'm guessing Jupiter 2 was originally Gemini 12 and the Reliant was the Yorktown. I don't know which is the odd one out though. Happy Halloween! :)

  6. Heh, really nice quiz Spacerguy!

I think the Gemini 2 must have been Battlestar Galactica, that series used Zodiac constellation names quite a bit.

BTW, I would love to see photos of all of these different ships! Here's a nice one of the ship from Alien.

    I really like Klingon BoP

Anyone know what this one is called? Blake's 7 ship :)

  7. Thanks guys, great guesses everyone. Alex, Lexa, Tony and Nova Dove, you're on the right track. All will be revealed!

Blakes 7 ship was the Liberator, right?

  8. Jupiter 2 and USS Enterprise NCC 1701. My congrats to all of you who nailed it. The odd one out is the Doomsday machine because being a fully functional, automated, computerised space vessel, it had no need for a humanoid crew.

  10. I wish my brain retained that kind of information. It used to retain everything about The X-Files but I'm afraid its too many years now. I would have to watch the whole series again from scratch.

    Hmmmmm.

    :)
