Entertaining Emmys

E is for Entertaining Emmys. Each year the Emmys are celebrated on TV with awards held in the USA since 1949 to honor the best in Prime-Time TV viewing. Believe it or not Star Trek The Animated Series won an Emmy for the most entertaining children's series in 1975! So did TNG, DS9, VOYAGER and ENT. Sadly Star Trek's classic TOS show is the only show to truly bite the dust at the Emmys! I mean how in great space does Enterprise beat TOS classic show? Someone please explain that to me.

In any case, The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards will hit the airwaves on Sunday september 20th 2015. You've probably wondered at some stage whats the recipe for choosing the Prime-time Emmy Awards host, right? The scoop is Andy Samberg aka Brooklyn Nine-Nine's will be in command. So tune in for the fun. "Buckle your seat belts, Emmy lovers!"

Tell us why you love watching the Emmys!

Star Trek Into Darkness has been nominated for Best Science fiction Film of 2015.
Is STID in with a chance to win?

The first series got shafted in so many ways.

I know what you mean Alex, probably why TOS only ran for three years. The Nielson electronic black box system hadn't a clue how many fans were really watching the classic show.

I watch the original series with loving eyes and think, if it were a hit then... would it be a phenomenon now? It could have just run it's 5 year mission, then gone...

Welcome in the letter "E"... thank you!

I'm not a huge fan of the Emmys, but I do like Andy Samberg (and Brooklyn Nine Nine). Hopefully he's a good fit for host. My favorite shows never win anyway. Also, the animated series won but never the original? I'm surprised by that, considering how groundbreaking it was at the time.

The Emmys ignore about as much as they applaud. They celebrate what's accepted as highbrow mainstream success.

I always assumed they gave it to Enterprise to make up for all the snubs of the past.

Enterprise won an Emmy!?! Enterprise?!?

Star Trek was the first show to not be cancelled due to all the write-ins from fans so it stayed even longer than it was going to be. I am not surprised it didn't win. The mega stardom of Star Trek was not born quite yet. Sad that the other Star Trek shows were not featured prominently like the other shows for Emmy's. Now I don't watch the Emmys as much because most of the shows I don't even see

I don't watch a lot of television - and certain not the Emmys. They seem to be more a popularity than a quality award. Or is that just me?
