Mudd's Women Star Trek TOS

"Mudds Women" is the third episode of Star Trek to be produced with a dazzling display of costumed females showing off their vivacious curves. Con artist, Smuggler Harry Mudd explains his "special shipment", Eve McHuron, Magda Kovacs, and Ruth Bonaventure are not so much cargo as mail order brides for lonely rich miners.

Eve McHuron, Ruth Bonaventure and Magda Kovacs,
Great care was taken with the wardrobe for Harry's "Cargo" providing a fantastic opportunity for William Ware Theiss to make a name for himself in design philosophy seen throughout Star Trek's classic series. Its not that Theiss costumes were unseemly but rather revealed areas of the womens bodies typically unseen by the general public.

Fans were delighted with Dark haired spacebabe "Ruth" especially. She wears a lovely shiny green, sparkly dress with a large diagonal opening running from shoulder to waist. The underside of Ruth's breast was exposed and caught almost everyone's attention during filming of this classic Babe-tastic episode.

Do you find Mudd's women stunningly beautiful and distracting? Did you feel sorry for Harry when Captain Kirk handed over to be arrested? Would you swallow a "Venus Drug" to make you look young and beautiful?

No Venus Drug for me. Youth is sadly overrated, and beauty subjective. I think. Mind you, if it were offered perhaps I would weaken.

Pass on the drug.
The women are attractive and yet, cold.

Hadn't really looked into it that deeply. And drugs are bad. :)

They look like fembots.

Ruth is the most popular and exciting to look at!

I never caught that side-boob, but in the days before VCRs it was probably big news.

Well, I'm not attracted to the babes, but I did really enjoy this episode. I liked the reference to Mudd in the second movie (the new ones).

Mudd is like that funny and interesting uncle you have, but for some reason all the adults hate him.

Nope, never saw this one. Alex is right the women do look cold. I would be interested in a drug to make me look young and beautiful so long as it didn't affect my mind which is old and experienced.

When it was revealed that the "Venus" drug was more of a placebo and that the women could summon up the beauty within (shmaltzy). Gotta love Henry Mudd. He was always thinking up something new.

ST got away with many revealing wardrobe. The green dancer showed her skills quite well.

Oh I remember this episode well. It was all in their mind I guess. Ruth looks the most mysterious and she wore my favourite dress. Nope I wouldn't take the drug-it might make my bottom lip explode

That was one of the many memorable episodes. I loved the costumes. Lots of sparkles is a win ;)

They were distracting enough for you that Harry Mudd himself was mostly ignored in this post!

It's been a while since I've seen this episode. I remember feeling a bit confused by the ending.
