Bruce Hyde dies at 74

Have No Fear - O' Rileys Here.

On a sad note, a memorable and well-loved character Lt Riley played by Bruce Hyde, passed away from throat cancer on Oct 13th. He was 74. In Star Trek's classic "the Naked Time", Kevin Riley is the Irish navigator who steals the Enterprise in that episode. He will not be forgotten by fans, RIP Bruce and thanks for making us laugh.

I remember that Reilly made us kids laugh when we watched. One of my brothers went around imitating him until my dad did a 'Gibbs' and slapped him upside the head. Lolol!

I enjoyed watching Hyde's interview. We've lost so many of the original characters. That's sad.

I loved Kevin Riley, and I always wished his character had appeared in more episodes.

(Confession time: When my brother and I were kids and played with his Star Trek Enterprise bridge and action figures, I often gave Riley parts in the stories, even if I had to use Chekov's action figure to play him.)

Happy Blitz Day!

I'll be honest - I'm more of a Star Wars fan - the only things I know about Star Trek I know from my mum (who is a Star Trek fan) and The Big Bang Theory.

Happy Belated Blitz Day - I wrote myself a note to remind me to blitz and forgot anyway - doh!
