Worf, Xon and Yang

Worf (Michael Dorn) makes up for his lack of a true Klingon upbringing by trying to be a super Klingon, Kapla!

Xon (David Gautreaux) never got to play this Vulcan character, now I wonder why? He was supposed to be the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 Science Officer in the never made Star Trek II, long story short Nimoy's I am not Spock soon switched when the idea of a multi million dollar movie was in the wind. The rest you can guess. Gautreaux got a small part in Star Trek The Motionless Picture.

Yangs are the bitter enemies of the Kohms in the less than subtle allegory that was "the Omega Glory."

Ugly giant bags of Mostly Water and Varria

Ugly giant bags of mostly water. Haven't you ever wondered about the ugly bags of mostly water? hehe thats us!

Varria is Kivas Fajo's aide in Star Trek TNG "The Most Toys" until her boss decides to satisfy an innate curiosity with a banned Varon T Disruptor. It goes without saying that this weapon was banned by the Federation.

Once discharged the beam disrupts the entire body from the inside out and is an extremely painful way to die. Poor Varria (Jane Daly),she was an expendable life-form who simply got in the way. Theres always another Varria says Kivas except he was WRONG. When you look at her eyes, her face tells a thousand words and then shes gone - FOREVER........ Not for the faint hearted.

TESCAR'S TAS TREK

"How Sharper Than a Serpent's was instrumental in the winning of a 1975 Emmy Award." The Emmy was not the only accolade that the episode attained. Star Trek: The Animated Series, originally and formally titled Star Trek and The Animated Adventures of Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek, was a continuation of the voyages of the USS Enterprise, previously featured in the original Star Trek series.

On the television network NBC, 22 episodes of The Animated Series were aired between September 1973 and October 1974 which have all been reviewed by Spacerguy at Star Trek Sci Fi Blog. Reruns continued on NBC through 1975. The series was produced by the experienced animation house Filmation and the episodes were scripted by professional science fiction and Star Trek writers, including Larry Niven, D.C. Fontana, David Gerrold and Samuel A. Peeples. During my voyages I discovered a fascinating story written by Kail Tescar which you may find totally intriguing and entertaining as a sci-fi read packed with all kinds of information. Enjoy!

SARJENKA

In Star Trek TNG "PEN PALS" a distressed voice is received by Commander Data (Brent Spiner) who picked up a call on a transmitter. Does he answer??? Lets just get real for a second, I promise I won't take long, The Character in question has a name (believe it or not) although you wouldn't think so from looking at her. She looks good enough to get a starring role in "Nightmare on Elmstreet" or "Scary Movie."  All of this is a little beside the point.

When I first heard Sarjenka, my heart nearly melted a thousand times and then I SAW her FACE. OMG - what a transformation. A FACE OF PAIN!!!! You'll have to truly decide for yourselves. Be warned though, shes a real heart breaker. Sarjenka's sweet little voice is actually pleading for help....Captain Picard wasn't too impressed with the semantics of the situation. (He had bigger plans) However, SARJENKA (Nikki Cox) proved that her alien culture was unaware of alien cultures and that saving her world didn't involve smashing the Prime Directive in tiny pieces -

So when Data brings Sarjanka back to USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D, you might well ask.... Is this the androids smartest or dumbest move to date?

Was O'Brien (Colm Meaney) right? "Theres going to be hell to pay!"

Its over to you trekkers.

QUINN AND REMMICK

Hi trekkers, its been my intention to write about Monsters during the A to Z challenge, or at the very least dig up some interesting news about them but its been difficult. But low and behold heres one, Quinn - he was an Admiral no less played brilliantly by Ward Costello. Apparently QUINN discovered a plot to take-over Starfleet Command in 2364.

So what happened? I hear you ask?  Well it turns out Quinn got his best man on the job, Inspector General Dexter REMMICK. Ahh haa but all is not what it seems. So now here we have someone checking the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D inside out until something gives, which it does.... I highly recommend you watch these Star Trek TNG episodes "Coming of Age" and "Conspiracy"

In which Star Trek TNG episode does our unknown alien intelligence say "you don't understand.... We mean you no harm.... We seek peaceful co-existence!"

Phaser long and Prosper, trekkers and trekkies!

Orion Heaven

Q made Captain Picard's dreams come true, trouble is theres a little catch. You see that ship Enterprise NX 01?

The Orions appearing in The Animated Series depicted the Orion female, in "The Time Trap", and the Orion males in "The Pirates of Orion" as being light-skinned due to coloring difficulties (the same problem also occurred with the normally blue-skinned Andorians, which appeared gray).

Although most other Star Trek episodes had pronounced Orion as "Oh-RYE-on", the word was pronounced "OR-ee-un" throughout "The Pirates of Orion". The mistake was due to the fact that the animated scripts did not include a pronunciation page, unlike scripts of later live-action Star Trek episodes. "The Pirates of Orion" also featured the second appearance of an Orion craft, this time using a far more detailed animation than that used in "Journey to Babel". The episode was the first to reference the Orion species in its title and remains the only episode to have done so.

startrekspace.blogspot.com/2015/06/star-trek-tas-pirates-of-orion.html

If Captain Picard wants all these lovely green Orion babes, lusting all over his baldy head, then he has to take Captain Archers place. Thats right, Picard must replace Archer and stay on board as captain of the original Enterprise NX 01. So my friends, the ball is in your court, you'll have to decide and make up your minds on this one!

Have fun and prosper Trekkers and Trekkies!

May the force of Q be with us all.

Nagilum

The USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D sensors clearly show a void in space has appeared right before the bridge crews very eyes. Further analysis reveals the "void" in empty of all matter which intrigues Captain Picard, who takes a keen personal interest in the matter. "Well, We're acquainted with the wormhole phenomena but this...."

WHAT IS THIS?

A PROBE WITH FULL SENSOR ARRAY IS LAUNCHED

WHY DID THE SECOND PROBE DISAPPEAR?

What do your sensors say? enquires the puzzled Flagship Captain."Nothing" answers Data. So Now Picard is totally baffled. "It is a void without matter or energy of any kind" answers the Android rather impassively within Commander Rikers earshot...

"Yet this hole has a form, Data. It has height, width." queries the USS Enterprise-D No1,
So now Data replies "Perhaps. Perhaps not, sir."
A bewildered Picard standing nearby is justifably annoyed. "Thats hardly a scientific observation, Commander." Quod Erat Demon stradum? right? I'm afraid not trekkers. Our artifical friend Data, is determined to continue. "Captain, the most elementary and valuable statement in science, the beginning of wisdom, is "I do not know."
"I do not know what that is, sir."
So now Picard decides to investigate. Its over to you trekkers, to be or not to be....

IT MOVED! THE ENTERPRISE-D IS ENVELOPED!

I'm must confess my laptop actually fell silent when FINALLY, Nagilum (THE CREATURE WITHIN THE CLOUD RUNNING THE EXPERIMENT) enveloped the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D in whole!!!!! for a while I thought I was in trouble too, lol.

Live Long and Prosper trekkers and trekkies.

How would you have reasoned with the lifeform?

Mission to Mars (Curiosity Rover)

Mars Science Laboratory "Curiosity Rover" was launched from planet Earth on November 26th 2011. Earths Curiosity Rover successfully landed in the the "Mars Gale Crater" on August 5th 2012. Is any of this news true? Apparently Michael Giacchino created this unmistakable (J.J. Abrams) Music soundtrek playing on Youtube. So something the real deal. Wouldn't you say?

What gets to me is, heres an exciting video so lets ask the tough trek question. How many of you guys have actually watched this awesome creation? Go go now. Warrior to Warrior, do lets be honest (Remember General Chang in Star Trek the Undiscovered Country?) - we have to prepare ourselves for every unknown possibility!

Warrior to Warrior.

SHERLOCK AND THE GOVERNESS

SO WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

WOULD YOU LET SHERLOCK HOLMES SPEAK ABOUT YOUR GOOD FORTUNES OR ADVERTISE YOUR MISFORTUNES?

TO BE OR NOT TO BE?

Khan doesn't give up with out a fight.

Later McGivers comes to Khan’s quarters, and he plays her like a two-dollar banjo, pretending to grow weary of her alleged fickleness, which is just her acting like a person, and gets her to practically beg him to stay. It’s an impressive display of power, and he makes it more overt when he forces her to her knees, declaring his intention to take the ship. She resists at first, but eventually says she’ll do anything he asks.

What orders would you have given to take control?

Star Trek's Cat-woman ISIS

I is for ISIS the Cat-woman. Believe it or not 50 years ago Isis originated as a lifeform of unknown extra-terrestrial orgin in Star Trek. So lets be clear. Isis began as a beautiful lifeform, a creature with four legs who meeeowed and loved attention.

In Star Trek's classic "Assignment Earth" episode fans get to see secret agent Gary 7's sleek black cat. Her name was ISIS and shes mysterious but aren't most women? Our feline friend which graced TV screens over 5 decades ago is not to be confused with anything sensationalized in the media today.

We soon learn the cat used mental telepathy when it accompanied Gary 7 on a mission to planet Earth in 1968. I sometimes wonder which one of them was in charge during the mission, haha.

IMAGE OWNER/CREATOR PARAMOUNT PICTURES
 AND OR CBS STUDIOS
The fun begins when ISIS transforms herself into a beautifully clad humanoid woman in black of course. Sadly Isis' true identity remains a mystery but her twinkling eyes.... the eyes were hypnotic weren't they?

The brain twister here is: What was the black Earth cats natural form? The woman or the feline or something else?

HUNTER VS HUNTED

H is for Hunter chasing the Hunted. In 2369 Chief Engineer Miles O' Brien (Colm Meaney) befriends an intelligent lifeform being pursued through the wormhole. Star Trek DS9 Captive Pursuit shows a hunted alien, Tosk (Scott Thomson) on the run from his masters, the Hunters. Its a game of sport to them you see. Its fun watching the fox trying to outwit the bad guys in this story.

" I am Tosk says the hunted alien, I live to outwit the hunters for another day, to survive until I die with honor."

In order to help Tosk, O'Brien must decide if this alien is worth going against Commander Sisko's orders. The message is clear. The United Federation of Planets principles are in direct conflict with the Hunters culture. Tosk was bred and raised for the sole purpose to be hunted. I can just imagine Captain Jean Luc Picard (TNG) giving us a speech on the first duty of every Starfleet officer......

What would you do, help or let Tosk take his chances?

Hunt long or Prosper, Trekkers.

Chancellor Gorkon

G is for GORKON but who is he? In Star Trek the Undiscovered Country VI, David Warner plays the foolhardy naive Klingon, Chancellor Gorkon who brokers peace between the Federation and the rouge Klingon Empire. Gorkon's peace initiatives are civilized and diplomatic. The Galactic powers are uneasy. Not everyone wants Peace! Its bad for business even in the 23rd century!

Okay, so heres someone who recognises there can be honor in peace. Is he a visionary or a fool? Who can the Chancellor trust? He has to rely on his trusted aides during "dinner time" aboard the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-A and especially General Chang his chief of staff. So its really neat when two assassins in white Starfleet uniforms close in for the kill. Who are they? Who sent them?

Its fun watching the clueless Enterprise crew piece together the clues in this wonderfully dark sherlockian murder/mystery.

KIRK "We fired on the chancellors ship!"
 SCOTTY "That is not possible!"

QUESTION: Which two traitors conspired to have Gorkon murdered and Captain Kirk framed?

1. General Chang (Gorkons Chief of Staff)
2. Brigadier Kerla (Gorkons Military Advisor)
3. Starfleet Admiral Cartright (Starfleet Command)
4. Azetbur (Gorkons Daughter)
5. Skippy the Bush Kangaroo.

Peace and Long Life, Trekkers and Trekkies.

Fabrini

F is for Fabrini but who are they? 10,000 years ago, The Fabrini built an asteroid spaceship "Yonada" to carry their descendants to safety before their star went supernova. Star Treks classic (For the World is Hollow and I have touched the Sky,) is a touching love story and mission of survival. Yonda is run by the cranky "Oracle" with High Priestess Ruler Natira (Kate Woodville) worshipping her God computer which speaks and demands obedience.... so perfectly hilarious.

The ship itself is 200 miles in diameter, constructed by Fabrini's brightest, installed with sublight propulsion drive, life support systems except now the "Oracles" guidance systems are broken. A big deal has arisen because the Yonda is going to smash into an inhabited M-Class world, Daran V. The plot thickens when Bones discovers the book of knowledge. So now its the perfect job of Kirk vs the Oracle but what about the Prime Directive of non-interference?

At the beginning of this episode Dr McCoy shocks us all. Xenopolycythemia has no cure!

Captain Kirk is stunned. Who?
Dr McCoy: He has one year to live at most.
Kirk: Who is it?
Dr McCoy: The ships Chief Medical Officer.
Kirk: You?!?!

(Are you like f###~king kidding me?)

Why doesn't Kirk like totally flip out?

So what now?  The ships dying Dr McCoy's falls in love with the beautiful High Priestess Natiri. Awwww shucks.... Of course the evil Oracle is the only one standing in the way with the secret cure for his cursed illness......  but I won't spoil the ending on you.

Which Star Trek actor is the Oracles voice?

1. William Shatner
2. Walter Koenig
3. Jimmy Doohan

EMBATTLED USS ENTERPRISE NCC 1701

E IS FOR EMBATTLED ENTERPRISE.  We've all heard the name before, The USS Enterprise NCC 1701 took incoming Klingon enemy fire and sustained heavy damage in Star Trek the Undiscovered Country. Scottys first on the scene, crying havoc about the structural integrity of the ship and his precious warp engines.

"The ship's packing quite a walloping, she can't take much more of this. She'll blow up!"

The Enterprise goes on to achieve fame under Captain James Tiberius Kirk but for now she needs a major refit. In the eyes of Kirk's nemesis General Chang, the USS Enterprise 1701 is a formidable "battlecruiser."  However the real hero was Scotty the "Miracle Worker" who kept the ship in one piece.

I know Kirks Enterprise 1701 hardly qualifies as a lifeform but heres a quote from the Captain himself whos of a slightly different opinion.

All I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by. You could feel the wind at your back and the sound of the sea beneath you. Even if you take away the wind, water, its still the same. The ship is yours, you can feel her and the stars are still there.

QUESTION: Is the USS ENTERPRISE NCC 1701 alive?

ITS OVER TO YOU TREKKERS AND TREKKIES.

DEANNA TROI'S LOWCUT VS FULL-DRESS STARFLEET UNIFORMS

D is for Deanna Troi but who is she? Troi (Marina Sirtis) is a half betazoid, half human in Star Trek The Next Generation. Doesn't she look awesome? She plays the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D ships counsellor not unlike the exotic empath seen here in this retro 1960's Starfleet uniform

IMAGE CREATOR GAZOMG AT DEVIANT ART
IMAGES OWNER CREATOR PARAMOUNT PICTURES AND OR CBS STUDIOS

Her empathic powers only allow her to read the emotional states of ordinary humanoids except Ferengis. One look at (DS9) Quarks head explains why. Those guys are not normal! Its a touchy subject for Deanna who often consoles herself by tucking into Chocolate Sundaes.

CURSE IT PICARD, YOU'VE SPOILED DEANNAS GRAND ENTRANCE!

Her Betazoid mother, Lwaxanna Troi is an walking talking unforgettable experience. Remember when she made Captain Picard carry her luggage? So hilarious except Deanna wasn't laughing one little bit. So heres the full expose in all her exotic splendor from low-cut boobs to full Starfleet uniform.

In the first season Troi amused many of us with her cheer-leading techniques. I reckon what makes Deanna really special is the Imzadi connection with the fans! We know from Star Trek's  Encounter at Farpoint that Riker and Deanna were secret lovers who later got married in 2373. Can you name the movie or location?

Hardly amazing 25 years later, Deanna Troi's cleavage is still the talk of geeks and nerds everywhere but ask yourself, Who was first to put Counsellor Troi in a proper Starfleet uniform? Why Ronny Cox no less aka Captain Edward Jellico. It made perfect sense to Cox at the time.

"Having Troi put on a damn uniform?" he says sounding like gruff Jellico "Give me a break. This was an officer on a ship running around with her boobs hanging out?"

So now you know why Marina Sirtis' wardrobe changed during Star Trek TNG, sniff. Which Star Trek pick gets your thumbs up?: The Ferengis head, Lwaxanna Troi or Deanna's lowcut USS Enterprise-D Uniform?
