Top 250 Greatest Sci-Fi Movies of all Time

Heres a Sci-Fi Movie list from Ranker.com giving us the "Greatest Science Fiction Movies of all Time." Now you can vote up your favorite SF movies. Check out the distant future of aliens, clones, robots, machines, and science tackling real mysteries in our time.

I love the whole concept of teleportation and good villains are so hard to come by- but hey, don't forget the mad scientist - often overlooked in modern Science Fiction like 2017's Wonder Woman but then you decide! At least 1978's Superman is on the list ranked at 74 but seriously shouldn't he be flying?

Live Long and Prosper, trekkers and sci-fi addicts!

I had to stop voting or I'd be here all day.
Obviously the list includes a ton of fantasy. The Wizard of Oz? Really?
At least Aliens is in its proper place.

Happy to see Terminator and Fifth Element so high on the list.

Metropolis and The Day the Earth Stood Still (original ) should be much higher. I think Fantasy is separate from sci-fi...I agree with Alex about The Wizard.

Awesome list, and I've seen most of those. I'd probably have Dark City and Idiocracy in my top ten, but I'm weird like that.

Star Trek The Wrath of Khan has fallen from 17th to 24th place. Come on guys what in cyberspace is going on?

Sigh on the ranking thing. Different movies excite different people for different reasons. And sometimes the same movie can be viewed differently at different times by the same person.

Nope. Not gonna. Lists like these are rabbit holes.

I'm totally happy about the number one choice, might be obvious but it's been my number one Star Wars film, and one of my favourite movies, for as long as I remember.

Have to agree, some curious choices. Who Framed Roger Rabbit? How does that fit anywhere? Happy to see Flight of the Navigator on any list though, such an underrated gem!

Galaxy Quest at No 53 explains my comment on your blog Nick, LOL Remember Alexander the guy that tries to run away? Well G Q is a black comedy ripping off Star Trek's classic series actors in every possible way by making a skit out of them.

Liz, you'll have to make do with Roger Rabbit at 202 - sure hope he doesn't make you dizzy chasing you down all those rabbit holes.

EC: I know what you mean. So why not pick your favorite, (press keys ctrl F) type in the movie title and vote!

It's always interesting to see how age affects someone's perception of movies. For example, THX-1138 is one of the classic pieces from the 1970s but hardly ever gets mentioned. Superman does deserve a higher place. Lots to disagree with on the list, but it's hard to argue with the top ten.
