IS TIME TRAVEL POSSIBLE?

Time travel is one of those subjects thats not too easily understood unless you're a Star Trek nerd or a scientist.

I'll try to explain so here goes my friends. Its relatively easy to move forward in time, lets say someone manages to mastermind a supercomputer like Quincy we're all hearing about in Alien Encounters and build a starship. If one travels very nearly at the speed of light then time for you, slows up - until its scarcely moving.

What the hell? I hear you cry, hehe.  Well all this means is that for someone else, to an observer for instance, the time traveller seems to be "frozen-like" almost in time -  but not quite. It takes you twenty years to move forward an inch.

WHAT HAPPENED TO COMMANDER RIKER?

Realise theTime-traveler (thats you) lives normally when the rest of the world is moving a lot faster. So when you go somewhere, nearly the speed of light and come back, you may find that a million years has passed! You are just a few months older but then a million years has passed but then you can't go back. The sad realisation strikes that kin and relatives have all passed many years ago.

TIME TRAVEL IS THE OBJECTIVE IN WHICH STAR TREK MOVIE?

All your descendants and maybe even humanity is no more... Of course the trick is to go that fast and figure out how to come back... anyone got any ideas on how to time travel back from the future? Who's winning in the race to build the worlds fastest Ultimate Computer?

Star Trek IV!
While we can go forward in time, sadly I don't think we'll ever be able to go back.

That's like the movie Interstellar.

Some days I would like to go back more than I want to go forward...

In the dreaming community we believe time travel is possible. I believe we are capable of traveling into the past and the future. I am a believer in possibilities.

Ah yes, the time travel question. Would that we would be able to do it. Maybe. But that's what fiction is for, is it not?

Traveling backwards through time is one of the things predicted by general relativity, at least according to the math, but Einstein dismissed it as too strange to actually be real. But Einstein said black holes were too strange to be real too, and yet we now know they're out there.

(They also time travel in First Contact.)
