Immediate Impact of Federation Ships

I is for Immediate Impact of Federation Starships at Wolf 359.

"Perhaps today is a good day to die!"

Who said that now I wonder?

Ten years later after Star Treks TNG's 'Best of Both Worlds (2366), the battle of wolf 359 (2377) gave Worf commanding the Defiant the opportunity to fly into the big bad beautiful Borg cube. Our friend Michael Dorn, in true Klingon Warrior style - Worf is preparing to go out in a blaze of glory. Yeah lets blow these Borg demons up!!! How that must have shook his crew up, hehe.
'Prepare for ramming speed.'
Which came first, Sector 001 or Wolf 359? Who's were you rooting for the Borg, Enterprise-E or Worfs Defiant? In any case have fun watching the video trekkers.

B4 WHERE NO ANDROID HAS GONE BEFORE

To B or not to B-4. Star Trek Nemesis is the big bang for B-4 brother Data. How did you react when Picard materialized on the bridge of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-E only to watch Shinzon's Romulan predator bird of prey burst into flames. Why did Data deactivate his less advanced B-4 brother only for Picard to re-activate?

"All the worlds a stage, And all the men and women merely players

Star Trek Outpost Overseer Officer

O is for Star Trek Outpost Overseer Officer.

"I'm  OVER HERE OFFICER" Please help find me an OASIS fast, I need water!!!"

OMG did you see her? Medical Tricorder readings appear to indicate, I'm Obsessed with illusions in Star Trek blue uniforms - like this knockout. Where did she go? did you see her?

STAR TREK OVERSEER DEFENDING OUTPOST

QUESTIONS: Is this scantily clad Star Trek blue Outpost defender for real or a mirage?  How else could she have disappeared so fast into thin air? Could I be hallucinating?

E is for Enterprise and Excelsior Engaging the Enemy

Remember when Star Trek's Excelsior and USS Enterprise engaged the enemy. Duh what?

The U.S.S. Excelsior, NCC-2000 came to the rescue in Star Trek VI with General Chang's Bird of prey ready to swoop in for the kill, could Kirk's USS Enterprise NCC 1701 have survived on its own?

'Tickle us, do we not laugh? Prick us, do we not bleed? Wrong us, shall we not revenge?'

BY SILVER 7854 DEVIANT ART

The plan was simple. Enterprise and Excelsior had to blow the living bejeebers out of Chang's Klingon bird of Prey.

Oh now, be honest, Captain. Warrior to warrior...You do prefer it this way, don't you? No peace in our time. 'Once more unto the breach, dear friends. Fire!

Which side were you rooting for? The Klingon Bird of prey, or Earth's Starfleet Federation?

Was it really a fair fight?

Spacerguys A to Z Reflections

Its Reflections Time! I'd like to salute every blogger who took part in Aprils 2015 A to Z challenge launched by the big guns in 2010. I had a great time, didn't you? The A to Z bloghop is a great way to locate and share fun new blogs, meet and introduce yourself to others and divvy up on the latest trending topics.

In keeping with tradition, Ninja Clones and Bird Watchers explored nifty new outer limits by high fiving this years blogger spirits. This is my fifth A to Z challenge from beginning to end. I have to admit, the positive blog vibes which flowed during the month of April kept me boldly going...

In keeping with A to Z tradition, I wanted to be a little different from previous years, so my A to Z "Star Trek" theme for 2015 covered a broad range of Science Fiction instead.

During the blogfest I encountered lots of creative energy. Themes contained Recipes, Poetry, Writing Tips, Science Fiction, Supernatural, Fantasy, Music, Childrens Writer Hollywood, Love Stories, short stories, Books, Movies, Rhyming Stories,Film Stars, Star Trek, Tina Nit Picking Geekery, Story Visuals and Photo Blogs. I was astounded by the amount of talent and tried to high five everyone.

Did the A to Z challenge energize your mind body and soul?, or were you brainwashed from all the festivity? Do you still feel like a Zombie or are you loaded on black coffee?

Which bloggers, sci-fi fans, writers, trekkers and zombies have you found particularly interesting?

Xenopolycythemia

X is for Xenopolycythemia but what is it? Star Trek's classic "For the World is Hollow and I have Touched the Sky" stars the cranky Chief Medical Officer (played by Deforest Kelley) who ventures aboard a spaceship world in this funny love story. I remember Dr McCoy getting sick but really did any of us have a clue what Xenopolycythemia was? I had to look this one up online.

To begin with is Xenopolycythemia a real disease?

Online Medical Databases say no, Memory Alpha and Wikipedia say yes. Further investigation reveals "Polycythaemia" is a type of blood disorder characterised by too many red blood cells. So now we know. The plot thickens when we find out "Bones" is suffering from this rare incurable disease but lucky for him Natira (high Priestess to the Oracle) eases the pain. Rick Vollaerts wrote the script giving the good doctor about a year to live. Murderer!!! LOL.

It was a neat trick Vollaerts slapping "xeno" on the front of "Polycythaemia" but what purpose did it serve? It sure confused the heck out of me!

Wonderful "Super-Trekkie" Tina

W is for Wonderful Tina. I want to pay tribute to fellow super-Trekkie, Tina Downey by remembering her at Star Trek Sci Fi Blog. Tina lived life to the full and co-hosted last years A to Z blogfest stopping by and saying hi to everyone throughout the challenge.

She recently parted company with us last year having battled Pulmonary Hypertension like a true warrior. I say that from the bottom of my heart. She extended a hand to so many people, friends, family, sci-fi fans, bloggers, struggling writers, authors and trekkies stretching right across the blogosphere.

Watching someone you love die from illness is heart breaking so I believe its important to remember Tina for the person she was in life. Tina was a mother, wife, inspiration, a mountain climber, a writer, blogger, lover of sunflowers and proud super-Trekkie.

Can you see what Tina's holding high in her right hand?

So in closing, I just wanted to share with all of you "super-trekkies" and bloggie buddies out there, Tina's wonderful words of support. She really loved Star Trek, stubborn Klingons and Mr Data from ST TNG.

Thank you Tina for being our friend.

"They like me, they really like me."

Pegg's Priority One

P is for Pegg's Priority One.

In official news, Simon Pegg's giving "Star Trek 3" all she's got with  Justin Lin as director and writer Doug Jung.

"It's true! Simon is currently working on the screenplay for the third Star Trek film with Dark Blue writer, Doug Jung." tweeted his twitter team earlier in the year.

Denofgeek.com has an interesting interview up with "Chief Engineer, Scotty" talking about Star Trek's 13th movie incarnation. Star Trek's writers really are on a final countdown to June. Do we have a movie title yet? Not yet... No pressure, lol.

"the timeframe we're working in is extremely tight. It means we're having to come up with the goods. We can't be lazy about it".

Are you all fired up for Star Treks July 8th 2016 release?

Whats a great movie title for Star Trek 3?

Any ideas on the new movie?

2015 Nebula Awards

N is for Nebula. In 1965 the Science Fiction Writers of America was founded by Sci-Fi author Damon Knight. The organisation originally began with a membership of only 78 writers and has grown since.

This years 50th Nebula Awards are being held in Chicago, Illinois beginning on  June 4th right through to the 7th  2015. The cost to attend is $70. If you're interested why not register? Writer's will likely geek out at their website which is a non profit enterprise full of helpful writer resources.

Each year the Nebula Awards are voted on and presented by "active members" of the science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.

Today SFWA is home to over 1,800 members, authors, artists and allied professionals. Many of them are leading writers of Science Fiction and Fantasy. Unlike the Hugos, the Nebulas take place every year for the best Sci Fi or Fantasy fiction published the previous year. Categories include Novel, Novella, Novelette and Short Story.

Who would you like to nominate for a Nebula?

Are you Star Trekking across to the nebulas this year?
Will you be booking a room this year?

Entertaining Emmys

E is for Entertaining Emmys. Each year the Emmys are celebrated on TV with awards held in the USA since 1949 to honor the best in Prime-Time TV viewing. Believe it or not Star Trek The Animated Series won an Emmy for the most entertaining children's series in 1975! So did TNG, DS9, VOYAGER and ENT. Sadly Star Trek's classic TOS show is the only show to truly bite the dust at the Emmys! I mean how in great space does Enterprise beat TOS classic show? Someone please explain that to me.

In any case, The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards will hit the airwaves on Sunday september 20th 2015. You've probably wondered at some stage whats the recipe for choosing the Prime-time Emmy Awards host, right? The scoop is Andy Samberg aka Brooklyn Nine-Nine's will be in command. So tune in for the fun. "Buckle your seat belts, Emmy lovers!"

Tell us why you love watching the Emmys!

Star Trek Into Darkness has been nominated for Best Science fiction Film of 2015.
Is STID in with a chance to win?

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

D is for Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde....so what gives? The original author, Robert Louis Stevenson wrote his first edition novella "Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde" in 1886. Since that time there have been dozens of stage and film adaptions of the novella, over 123 film versions alone not including radio and stage versions.  There doesn't seem to any stopping Dr Jekyl or his doppelganger hiding within, hehe! Looking back Rouben Mamoulian's 1931 B/W version made quite an impact.

1931 didn't have 3D CGI techo special effects we take for granted today. Jekyll and Hyde fans should get a kick out of Mamoulian's movie. I reckon lots of remakes failed to capture the spirit of Stevenson's original book, lacking Mamoulian's movie style and technical innovation.  It really was the golden age of science and inventions.

The arrival of new age special effects has changed Hollywood forever. Theres a brand new "true to text" 2015 Jekyll and Hyde movie due out on April 17th. The official website is here. Theres something about the earlier classics that gives us an appreciation and stretches the imagination.

What's your favorite Jekyll and Hyde film?

Don't mess with WORF!

Why is Worf rejected so much? In the STNG episode, "Coming of Age", while on the holodeck, Wesley and Worf discuss facing their fears. It was not revealed what Worf's "secret fear" was.

We know Klingons living to an old age is every warriors worst nightmare, as is being denied the right to die gloriously in battle. Actor Michael Dorn aka Worf has seen the youtube clip,

'Worf gets DENIED again and again on Star TNG' and was amused by it.

Heres what Michael had to say at a Comic and Toy Expo.

(Forward to 2mins 4sec)

In conclusion share with us now, warrior to warrior,

What is your favorite Worfism?

Here mine: Assimilate this!

Star Trek The Undiscovered Country

Star Trek The Undiscovered Country is a good movie with plenty of emotional attachment to all the main characters, proper effects and peppered humour. Its fun watching the hungover USS Enterprise NCC 1701-A crew piecing together the clues in this Sherlockian style, Star Trek murder/mystery.

When a mysterious photon torpedo ploughs into the Klingon High Chancellor's flagship, Kronos One, its red alert, battle stations for Kirk's Enterprise. The real mind twister is why are the USS Enterprise computer banks lying? Scotty just isn't buying it.

'Inform them of what? A new weapon that is invisible? Raving lunatics, that's what they'll call us!

What did Valeris see in the evil General Chang? Anyone with an eyepatch NAILED to his head is not exactly someone you want to mess with, Period. Who were you rooting for? Did you feel sorry for Valeris?

King Abdullah's 'Investigations'

K is for King Abdullah. Star Trek Voyagers 'Investigations' episode is quite the surprise. In 1996, a Jordanian Star Trek fan was but a mere Prince. He landed a non-speaking role in Star Trek Voyager as a Science Officer. When Moral Officer Neelix strikes up a conversation with Harry Kim, Science Officer Abdullah departs the scene rather quickly.

7 years later Jordan's avid Star Trek fan is a King! Apparently he was visiting the States as part of a military delegation and had to stopover in L.A. A friend offered to arrange for the prince to visit Voyagers' film set and try on a uniform.

'Then the next thing, when I actually showed up, they said that if you want, you can stand in. So it wasn't planned, it just turned out that way. I had a great time.'

How cool is this? Are you a fan of Star Trek Voyager? Do you wear costumes to Star trek conventions?

Heroic Captain Kirks Crew Are Hiding!

Heroic Captain Kirk has proven himself on numerous occasions with his ingenious battle strategies. Keeping the power and secrets of the Genesis Torpedo away from Commander Kruges grasp is top priority. He's the perfect mean spirited, vengeful Klingon on a power tripping quest... All our greedy friend has to do now is seize the Enterprise and steal her "secrets." When Kruge sizes up the situation, Captain Kirk cunningly outwits his mortal enemy by setting the USS Enterprise 1701 on self destruct!!! Kruges undefeated reputation is in tatters with his moment of glory backfiring sending him into an unhinged spasm of madness. He has to defeat his elusive opponent. Captain Kirk.

Trouble is, where are Captain Kirks heroic crew?

(Forward to 3.18)
TORG: My lord(Kruge) the ship appears to be deserted. [Enterprise bridge]

KRUGE: How can that be? They're hiding! [Bird-of-Prey bridge]

TORG: Yes sir. But the bridge appears to be run by computer. It is the only thing speaking.[Enterprise bridge]

KRUGE: Speaking? Let me hear. [Bird-of-Prey bridge]

ENTERPRISE COMPUTER VOICE: Nine, ...eight, ...seven, ...six, ...five,... [Enterprise bridge]

KRUGE: Get out! Get out of there! Get out! COMPUTER VOICE: ...one... [Bird-of-Prey bridge]

Guinan and Picard?

G is for Guinan but who is she? In Star Trek's TNG Whoopi Goldberg plays Guinan who runs the USS Enterprise-D's ten forward lounge. Amazingly she belongs to a mysterious race of El Aurians that doesn't seem to age, Guinan is over 500 years old. Captain Picard and Guinan share a very strong bond, they have a trust and an unspoken understanding that surpasses normal friendship and hints in some TNG episodes at possible intimacy.

She is the only character apart from the omnipotent Q who can challenge Picard's orders and get him to change his mind. Data believes her perception goes beyond linear time, which explains why she knew the timeline was altered in 'Yesterdays Enterprise'A self confessed Star Trek fan and Golden Globe winner to boot, the actress told Gene Roddenberry she wanted a part to play on the show. Whoopi Goldberg has been a Star Trek fan since childhood (her hero was Nichelle Niichols) so her character took off when producers found out she wanted to be part of the series.

What do you think, did Captain Picard and Guinan have a secret love affair?

Live Long and Prosper, trekkers.
