Star Trek Time Travel

The crew of Star Trek's USS Enterprise NCC 1701 - A,B,C and D has traveled backwards and forwards in time, frozen in time or repeated moments of time over and over again... but how many? Well my trekker friends... hells bells, how can we be sure? because we've got 13 movies, 7 Star Trek series and encounters with temporal anomalies, Thats a lot of Star Trek isn't it? So to begin, let examine TNG today and follow up with TOS, DS9, VGR, ENT,TAS, and Star Trek Discovery later on.

Star Trek The Next Generation
Time Travel Episodes:

1. All Good Things
2. Captains Holiday
3. Cause and Effect
4. Firstborn
5. Tapestry
6. Time Squared
7. Yesterdays Enterprise
8. Times Arrow
9. A matter of Time
10. We'll always have Paris (Temporal anomaly)
11. Timescape

I couldn't leave out Leonard's Stories about time, I know I'm being illogical... but its cool to think his spirit is time travelling out there somewhere. What do you think? Which is you favorite episode? Can you think of any others?

Hugo Award winner, Nebula Award winner and friend of Gene Roddenberry, Isaac Asimov is considered one of the Big Three Sci Fi writers of all time. He stated as a matter of fact what I am about to share with you now.

You may disagree or have an emotional outburst like Carol Marcos in Star Trek 2009 or Dr McCoy ST TOS, so I must warn you... Asimov's scientific core beliefs are not to be taken lightly. This guy was a charismatic character and one of my heroes I guess, who used sound reasoning and logic but he was also an atheist.

So if you're religious, you may wish to disengage from star trekking today. SPOILER ALERT::::

"When I die, I don't believe in Heaven or Hell. There will be nothingness, that I firmly believe."

Now lets analyse Isaac Asimov's fundamentalist belief very closely. As humanists we hope and believe in pleasure often chased by pain because we're mortal and have fears. Dying being one. For millions of us "Pain is the fire in which we burn" Dr Soran's character in Star Trek Generations said this.

Fires burn but eventually extinguish, don't they? so pain can't last! Pain must get better, right?! Thats give us hope at least that the afterlife exists!!! Heaven is real, God almighty forgives and awaits those who believe. Now I bet you're happy. I can tell, so this is a good time to beam up.

I'm sorry my trekker friends. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse... Theres bad news. It pains me to point out, one of the undisputed smartest Scientists, in the world (now deceased) - Stephen Hawking has stated otherwise.

"I regard the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail. There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers; that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark."

So what do you think now my friends? How can this reality be true?  It just can't get any worse... I mean whats right about it? but sadly I'm afraid it doesn't look good for us believers. Gene Roddenberry was known to be a humanistic atheist or agnostic.,,, but all logical indications appear to prove otherwise that God might... out there.... somewhere?  can this really be true?

Well there you have it.

Are you a believer in God Almighty? How can our human brains understand or communicate with the "creator of the universe" when we've never seen him or her? What value does 3 dimensional thinking have in an alien 11 dimensions? How does God separate the bad guys from the good guys? Is there any germ of sense in our current humanist beliefs beyond Earth?

See that navigation thingy down there? press engage, comment and your words will be immortalized for all time! Perhaps God will stop by to read! Have you ever seen  Captain James T. Kirk. Jean Luc Picard, Katryn Janeway or Benjamin Sisco teaming up against Godlike entities in the Galaxy? How shocked are you to discover men of Science and Star Trek humanist Gene Roddenberry are all atheists?

No matter where one boldly goes in the universe, at the end of the day it means a lot to have somewhere... out there... we can call home. Its why Starfleet wants us to sign up!

So guess what? I did, hehe (just playing with ya, trekkers) but still... Its nice to kick back with a cocktail or enjoy a beer with some Starfleet buddies during R&R... or perhaps curling up with a cup of tea and a good book is more your style... unless of course ur a geek and prefer the intimacy of computers. Either way, the Star Trek galaxy has numerous beverage options to fire up the hottest of party revelers.

Which drink fits your mood? Name the alcoholic beverage Captain Picard toasted with Captain Scott on his "Enterprise" given him by Guinan. What did Worf call a warriors drink? Which is your favorite drink?
