L is for Locutus of Borg but who is he? In Star Trek TNG's
Best of Both Worlds, Picard's Enterprise-D crew get their
butts kicked in a battle with the big scary Borg. Victorious,
trek's cybernetic baddies beam off the Federation's Galaxy
class fortress with their prized possession, Captain Picard.
How could this be happenning, I hear you ask. Well to be honest, TNG's Best of Both Worlds left many of us
gobsmacked on stardate 44001.4 It was spine chillingly
thrilling watching Picard become Locutus of Borg. However,
many of us still couldn't accept Starfleet's finest diplomat
was now the enemy, a walking and talking Borg.
'I am Locutus of Borg. Resistance is futile. Your life as it
has been is over. From now on, you will service us.'
How did you react when Commander Riker gave the order?
'Mr Worf.....fire.'

Damn, but that was an epic cliffhanger. I don't think a summer has ever been so long . . .
Two of the finest and most famous episodes!
An amazing episode and I love how Picard suffered PTSD from the experience. I really didn't think he'd be back.
I applauded Riker's poise under battle, knowing Picard would do the same. Alex is right; the next season was too long in coming.
Best of Both Worlds is a real cliffhanger, rumour had it Captain Picard was going to be killed off. Apparently Patrick Stewarts contract was up for renewal and the rest we know.
I'm sure at the time it was pretty dramatic. But for anyone else...unless Picard had a twin brother, this doesn't serve as a real question anymore. Unless he also had a clone.
Oh, wait...
Oh, some of my favorite STNG stuff, that. I was hoping hoping hoping that they wouldn't kill off Picard somehow, and thought it was great that even when he was back to being himself, that he still suffered aftereffects, which made the whole thing realistic and untidy.
IT must have been an exciting episode.. It certainly sounds like it!
