Nichelle Nichols has died on 30th July 2022

 Legend in her own lifetime R.I.P. Nichelle Nichols has died on the 30th July 2022: Trailblazing' actress who played the friendly Lt Uhura in Star Trek as our beloved Communications Officer aboard the USS Enterprise NCC 1701. She was 89. Nichelle Nichols broke barriers for black women in Hollywood like Whoopi Goldberg and got involved with the Space Programme NASA recruiting folks who weren't just white men but people of colour boldly recruiting  from  where no-one came before. 

The youngest and third woman into space was Sally Ride. Guy Bluford was part of the original Mercury Seven. Not to mention former cosmonaut and the first person of African heritage into space in 1980, Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez - They have all become famous astronauts. Nichelle was the kind of person who could get out there and inspire imaginations. "Hailing Frequencies Open Captain" It was Martin Luther King (fan of Star Trek) who said 'You Have Been Chosen'

Who Is Star Trek Picards Season 3 Mystery Character?

 Hi Trekkers, Who is the mystery character appearing in Star Trek Picard Seasons 3? Officially Paramount has stated LeVar Burton (Geordi La Forge), Michael Dorn (Worf), Jonathan Frakes (William T. Riker), Gates McFadden (Dr Beverly Crusher), Marina Sirtis (Counsellor Deanna Troi), and Brent Spiner (Data) will materialize alongside Patrick Stewart (Jean-Luc Picard)! 

STAR TREK PICARD SEASON 3 CAST

 

Aside from Stewart, the two other original Picard cast members who will return for the show’s season 3 are Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) and Michelle Hurd (Raffi Musiker). 

 Original Picard stars Santiago Cabrera (Chris Rios), Alison Pill (Agnes Jurati), Evan Evagora (Elnor), and Isa Briones (Dahj/Sutra/Kore Soong) all confirmed revealed that they are not coming back for the show’s final batch of episodes.

SEVEN OF NINE - JERI RYAN

Frakes, Sirtis, and Spiner have already appeared alongside Stewart in previous seasons of Picard, but it will be the first time that they will be joined by Burton, Dorn, and McFadden. 

Word has it Star Trek showrunner Terry Matalas will surprise fans.

Though the showrunner didn’t name or give any details away, he did indicate that the comeback of this "mystery character"  hits hard.

 “There’s one character who is in Next Gen who I was like, ‘I really want this character to come back.’ And when they did, that was weirdly more thrilling than everything else in totality.”

STAR TREK - THE ARSENAL OF FREEDOM

Hi Trekkers, I've been watching Star Trek TNG again which makes this the 3rd time! round the United Federation of Planets again. 😁

In episode 121, THE ARSENAL OF FREEDOM, The USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D is following up on clues which eventually lead to a technologically advanced world called Minos. The mystery is... what happened to everybody on the planet?

  When Picard and co are greeted by holograms, The 607 salesman seen here is automatically activated and so full of his "extra firepower, complete weapons systems" talk, you'd never guess this technological defence wizard killed everyone on the planet including his creators.

 So when the Enterprise-D away team beam down, Riker is greeted by a techno knock off imitating his friend Paul Rice in the jungle who is in fact..... one of the planets deadly weapon systems. So can this possibly get any worse? Well yes it does for starters Riker gets snared in a techno bubble trapping him. This meant the Captain had to beam down leaving Geordi in charge of the Enterprise-D.

 Meanwhile killer drones swoop in for the kill and attack.  QUESTION: Why is sophisticated technical equipment still functioning on a planet devoid of life? We soon learn from the proud Echo Pappa Series 607 Salesman!

 Crusher is hurt by her fall into the Cavern, Meanwhile killer defence technology is still analysing Riker, Data and Tasha for humanoid target practise so it can construct stronger deadlier weapons! Now that only happens in Star Trek!

WHY NOT? ITS A MACHINE ISN'T IT?

Why the doctor and Captain beam down is a mystery, after plunging 50 feet into a Cavern, poor Beverly struggles for her dear life. Its cool when Picard asks for options and Beverly beats Data with the answer!

PICARD: Give me some options, Data, quickly.

CRUSHER: Why don't you just shut it off?

PICARD: Is that possible?

CRUSHER: Why not? It's a machine, isn't it?

PICARD: Shut it off.

SALESMAN: Why? You haven't seen half of what this beauty can do.

PICARD: We've seen enough.

SALESMAN: Does that mean you're going to buy it?

PICARD: Yes. Yes, we've seen enough. You've made a sale.

SALESMAN: You won't be sorry.

  Meanwhile Laforge is in starship command faced with a huge challenge, as the planet soon begins attacking the ship as well!!!!!

MINOS DRONES TARGETING USS ENTERPRISE NCC 1701-D FOR TERMINATION 

 Basically it's a tale of survival as well as of growth for Laforge. Very simple, very direct and yet very enjoyable. Worth watching. So whose side were you rooting for? -  

1. USS Enterprise-D "beam down" away-team or 

2. Minos search and destroy superior firepower drones?
