In the Trek universe, 21st century scientist Zefram Cochrane invented the faster than warp drive rocket in 2061 which shot Geordi, Riker and Zefram into the trekkie universe. So when Cochrane officially opened the warp five complex on earth in 2119, he coins the phrase 'where no man has gone before.' Now growing up I was happy believing in the power of these sacred holy Star Trek words because Captain James T. Kirk's of the starship U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 said them. (TOS) was sacred hallowed ground.

Wasn't it that space cowboy Captain Kirk? Especially since he said "no MAN" instead of the politically correct "no ONE"! Spacer Guy I was just thinking of you this weekend, I heard William Shatner admit he's never watched an episode of classic Star Trek--C'MON! I ain't buying it, but I wonder if he's telling the truth?
As it so happens, I just rewatched the first episode of Star Trek: Enterprise last night. It was Cochrane. He said it first.
Its widely known Kirk spoke the words ApacheDug but then trek's timeline defines who what where and when. Mr Shatner probably is his own worst critic which might explain why.
So if Cochrane was first then who was first during stardate 1513.1 in 1969. It is a chicken and egg question but can anyone solve it?
Well, if no man has gone there, that doesn't preclude that a woman hadn't gotten there first ;)
