JEREMY HAWKINS TRIBUTE RIP - 'warp speed mr. sulu...'

Hi Trekkers, Heres a JUNE 2012 Report To The Transporter Room comments thread I'm re- posting in honor of Jeremy Hawkins who died in January. He was our blog buddy who stopped by to say Hi over the years. Its always a shock when COVID strikes, so stay safe people. Jeremy was good at co-hosting with A to Z and it won't be the same anymore.

His graphic blog artistry illustrates happiness delivered by a gifted mind he shared with whomever asked. thanks Jeremy. When you get the time hop over to amazon and buy something, book or t-shirt to support the family. Mine is arriving on the 17th of February.

  3. Spiners good at telling these yarns maurice, he does a classic Picard impersonation too.

Totally Jeremy. You'll find the transporter key beside the retro toys.

  4. i just went to the local comic book store where they have a collection of toys.. they had the galoob's 1988 star trek next gen figures... for like four bucks each. i almost got a few, but i had no money... but the original [more recent] classic set of the bridge that includes figures... was worth half, i think it is time to play with my set. warp speed mr. sulu... you play the theme in your head, like i am.

    damn you economy!

  5. I love these retro toys especially the ships! I've warped around the galaxy with them too, hehe. Its really tough cheese missing the Galoob bargains, Jeremy. These retro toys are sooo cool 'cos well when TNG got huge we were big kids, so the toys took off ahead warp fact 9, hehe.

I suppose the nerd in me loved building and painting AMT's model ships too, (the ones with really cool sound effects and flashing lights) but you couldn't really play with those. My Enterprise is on the shelf crying out for me. It was more fun being the engineer and putting her together. I thought all the instructions and wiring would melt my head but instead I got off building USS Enterprise NCC 1701 and it taught me something. Perservere to the end. It was really worth it. Scotty would have been proud. I felt like an accomplished Starfleet engineer, just kidding but you know what I mean.

  6. Too much Star Trek info, my head is about to explode.

  7. Then you know exactly how Security Officer Mitens feels, hehe.

  8. Who’s the absolute most terrible, awful blogger on the planet? Me!!! :-o

My sincere apologies for taking so long to get over here, Spacerguy. Would you believe me if I told you the transporter malfunctioned and sent me to another far off galaxy and it’s taken me this long to get back? No...I didn’t think so.

I’m running so far behind on everything, including commenting on blogs, it’s ridiculous. I truly am so pleased and honored that you thought of me (because I love your blog & I love Star Trek) and hope you’ll forgive my inexcusable tardiness. (Congrats on your awards!)

  9. No worries Susan, pesky transporters! Do you want me to send my engineer over? hehe

STAR TREK TNG 'THE PRICE'

Hi Trekkers, Star Trek TNG episode "The price" is hosting a bunch of dignitaries aboard the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D. Its interesting to discover who has their eyes on the Barzan wormhole. Smooth talking Betazoid negotiator Rals shenanigans with Deanna Troi's was just sheer co-incidence right? I don't think so. I mean it can't be easy being the Enterprise-D counsellor.

Image Owner Creator:  Paramount Pictures and or CBS Studios

So with the Barzans gathered and the greedy Ferengis around who slings his hook into Deanna? Ral. His plan (being an empath himself) was to sway the bidders emotions like he was doing with Deanna.

Meanwhile Geordi La Forge and Data  find out the "wormhole shortcut" joining the Gamma Quadrant and the delta Quadrant together isn't so stable. Would have been real neat too. A cool 200 light years shaved off starship spaceflight if the wormhole hadn't been rife with subatomic fluctuations. Yup, it was a dud. Only the Ferengi found out too late!

Something very strange is happening to this wormhole

William Shatner Friend and Defender of Earth Boldly goes where no Blue Orgin has gone Before

Merry Christmas Trekkers and to usher in 2022 heres some Bezos and Shatner Blue Origin fanfare with their rocket shooting off into space. You'll remember the legendary captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise 1701 from Star Trek the Classic Series? Well here he is....

These are our friends, our defenders and our protectors of the United Federation of Earth. Well, good as - apparently William Shatner has gone up into Space big time Trekkers for real, (only Joan Collins is not in agreement! )😁 one to beam up Scotty!

Without hope what have we got?  I'm going up into Space, How many people can say that? Jeff Bezos Concept to make living and pollution a thing of the past.

“I’m so filled with emotion about what just happened,” the screen legend said. “It’s extraordinary. I hope I never recover from this. I hope I can maintain what I feel now.”

What do you think? Are you for or against Space exploration?

Merry Christmas Trekkers!

STAR TREK PICARD NEWSFLASH

Heres a question fans of Star Trek Picard are asking.

Does Q appear in Star Trek Picard?

To recap trekkers we know In Star Trek: Picard's season 1 finale, Picard did indeed perish from his disease after he helped save the galaxy. But Dr. Altan Soong (Brent Spiner) and Dr. Agnes Jurati (Alison Pill) successfully transferred Picard's mind into the Golem, granting the retired Starfleet Admiral a new lease on life.

Heres a youtube scoop - Q creates an alternate timeline for Season 2!Yup! It kinda brings back 'ol Star Trek  memories of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D and First Contact sniff. Oh well. Season two will premiere in February 2022

On the 18th Jul Johnathan Frakes confirmed:

I just finished directing a couple of episodes of Star Trek: Picard. I can confirm that one of our old crew, the omnipotent Q, played by John de Lancie, is in fact in both of the episodes that I direct.

Is there a season 3 of Star Trek: Picard?

So now Picard's crew are time traveling to repair the fabric of time, lo and behold Q (John DeLancie) has lots of surprises for Picards fledglings. We see a Dictator Picard!!!! Why??? So what hope is there for Earth? What does the Federation represent with a Picard Totalitarian regime in power?

Will the fabric of time shatter if the two Picards meet? or is this something else? The Borg Queen also makes an amazing appearance and in order to save the future, wait for it 😁 Picards crew enlist her help!!!  So whats going on?

All is not the same in trekiverse, times are a changing!!!! What is Q up to?

Marina Sirtis, who plays Counselor Troi, and J. Frakes were briefly in Picards last season. Brent Spiner, who played Data, is back in another role. Seven of Nine and Picard never met in TNG continuity but in Star Trek Picard Jeri Ryan reprises her role and joins a lot of dots.

Do you think the Federations moral compass has gone completely mad, assasins out for blood, is not very diplomatic or, "we come in peace" friendly, is it?

STAR TREK PICARD - Q IS BACK

The trial never ends. Q is back! Hey Trekkers its getting closer to that time again, Star Trek Picard Season 2 due to hit our screens again in Feb 2022. It seems the former USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D nemesis John De Lancie aka Q uses his God like powers to change the dimension of time and space throwing the former Picard and crew to an alternate timeline. Quotes de Lancie Q "annoys the s--t out of Picard" creating a totalitarian nightmare reality.

Apparently, despite Picards protest "I am way too old for your b*lls**t" fell on deaf ears Q snapped his fingers and voila? Double Trouble. Q's having fun again altering the fate of billions. The great peace keeper, diplomat and negotiator Jean Luc Picard is no more Earth is run by a dictator! Will Jeri Ryan aka Seven of Nine become a full borg in season 2?

Android vs Cyborg vs T800 HK Terminator

DATA AND BORG QUEEN
Paramount Pictures or CBS Paramount Television

What makes a robot tick? or an android or a cyborg tick?. Commander Data of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D for instance is immortal, so he has nothing to fear you might think. Neither does Seven of Nine. Strength of 10 men, doesn't break easily, has an exhaustive computer memory and until 2371 was completely emotionless, when Dr Noonien Soong's (Data's human father) emotion chip was finally installed.

Beforehand Data was completely fail safe and ruthless with his opponents. This thing had the equivalent fighting capabilities for taking on the T800 Hk Terminator. Seven of Nine would simply have resorted to the mesmerizing power of her mind enhanced by the Collective Borg. resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

The Enterprise Data android is not without flaws. The installation of Dr Soong's emotion chip initially made Data a weak, emotional android unable to master a flood of human emotionalism. Data's off switch, known only to his Enterprise friends was his Achilles heel. It effectively put the chief of Operations in sleep mode or deactivation which Lore took full advantage.

SEVEN OF NINE

In Star Trek's TNG "The Measure of a Man" Data's rights to choose are at stake.. A hearing is assembled on the starbase. Data's future and all future androids in the galaxy rest solely on the successful outcome of Captain Picard's Défense of Data. Fortunately Mr Data is not deemed the property of Starfleet Command but a sentient lifeform with rights to choose on equal footing of us human and in case you haven't been paying attention - That means us pitiful earthers.

T800 HK TERMINATOR

Who do you think would win in hand to hand combat?

1. Mr Data

STAR TREK PICARD - WHY NO 1 is THE BEST

Star Trek has an exciting new character to whet our appetites about, Picards trusty new dog and his name we all know is Number One! Fun considering William T Riker (Johnathan Frakes) starship USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D was Captain Picards sidekick too! So now Picard's New Number 1 is everywhere, posters and trailers. Heres Patrick Stewarts interview about his pitbull and what it means to Star Trek Picard.

“I wanted a dog because I have, only in the last four years, renewed my acquaintance with dogs. I had a dog, a border collie, when I was little and nothing since then. I thought all we need to do is to have a dog at Picard's side. And that, without any dialogue or any dramatic reference, will say a lot about this man, that he now has a dog always at his side,” Stewart said of the creative decision behind giving Picard a four-legged friend.

Star Trek: Picard

NO 1   sits  by  PICARD waiting for orders.

"Remembrance"

He continued. “And then the question was what kind of dog? Well, I am obsessed with pitbulls. What a dog, and how ill used they have been, appalling used. In England they're a banned breed. I adopted my first pit bull and we already were excited about the thought of taking her back to England, and we couldn't do it. They won't be let in the country. I even talked to the British Embassy in Washington about it and they said,  ‘There's nothing we can do.` I'm now part of a campaign working in the UK to get this legislation changed because they are the most sensitive, the most loving, the most giving, the most affectionate creatures that you could ever possibly hope to meet.”

It seems that Stewart represents the best of us both on and off the screen. Pitbulls have a history of being mistreated, so Stewart is doing the right thing in standing up for them against unfair stereotypes and giving them a platform like Star Trek: Picard. We think Picard would be proud.
