STAR TREK TNG - THE NAKED NOW

Hi Trekkers,Spacerguy here. We know the feel good factor of saurian brandy, right? Its Christmas, that lack of good judgement, just one more merry sherry hit before stopping by the second star to the left...  Well my friends, In Star Trek TNG "the Naked Now" Science ship Tsiolkovsky investigating a nearby collapsing star has fallen victim to its own self destructive wild passionate behaviour! All is not what it seems in trekiverse.

Tasha Yar aka Denise Crosby
"but I got out of my uniform for you Data"

USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D and  USS Tsiolkovsky

The crew are getting so loaded with "cheer" and intoxication that one crew says " yeah do it" and out blasts the airlock into outer space along with all the bridge crew. Sure it was a blast, a pure dopamine rush comparable to getting high on alcohol but....The question is how?

AIRLOCK OPEN - CREW PUSHED OUT
INTO SPACE

GEORDI LA FORGE investigates Tsiolkovsky

When Starfleets USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D finest arrive to investigate strange activity on the science starship with the supernova of a giant star nearby. It really is touch and go when a PSI 2000 variant virus infects the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D.  So can things get any worse? Yes they can! Someone has yanked out all the computer chips paralysing the starship! Mr Data who replaced all the computer microchips at lightspeed with nano-seconds to spare and Mr Shimota gets kia.

Wesley Crusher  Repulser Beam Project

WESLEY's Picard voice:   Attention all decks, all divisions. Effective immediately I have handed over control of this vessel to acting Captain Wesley Crusher.

PICARD: Acting Captain!!!

WESLEY: Thank you Captain Picard, Thank you and with that order dawns a brave new day for the Enterprise.

USS Tsliolkovsky and asteroid

I hear you trekkers! Wesley drunk on the PSI 2000 virus. Whats even more puzzling is the deus ex machina (God out of the machine) device that saves the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D sat the last minute. "The Naked Now" is a homage to "The Naked Time". This entire episode depends on Dr Crushers son Science Project (which resembles a toy) Its got a built in tractor beam which diverts the science ship and acts as a push off for the Enterprise-D which vacates the flightpath of the celestial object in space hurtling towards them.

Wesley and Geordi observing a tractor beam.

QUESTION: How did the intoxicating virus from science starship Tsiolkovsky infect the Chief of security Tasha Yar?

Tasha Yar actress Denise Crosby in Star Trek The Next Generation

TASHAS QUARTERS:

TASHA: But I got out of uniform for you, Data. Do you know how old I was when I was abandoned?

DATA: Chronological age? No, I am afraid I am not familiar with

TASHA: Five. Five years old, but I survived. I learned how to stay alive, how to avoid the rape gangs. I was fifteen before I escaped.

DATA: I am sorry. I did not know,

TASHA: And what I want now is gentleness. And joy. And love. From you, Data. You are fully functional, aren't you?

DATA: Of course, but

TASHA: How fully?

DATA: In every way, of course. I am programmed in multiple techniques, a broad variety of pleasuring,

TASHA: Oh, you jewel! That's exactly what I hoped.

[Bridge]

Captain Picard

Meanwhile on the flagship bridge of the federations finest in the galaxy Picard is losing patience.

PICARD: Number One, MacDougal, get that boy out of Engineering.

(Riker and MacDougal leave)

WORF: Sir, I'm getting very strange reports from all decks.

PICARD: Such as?

WORF: Such as the ship's Training Division ordering all officers to attend a lecture on metaphysics.

PICARD: Metaphysics?

DATA: Confirmed, sir. And there was a rather peculiar limerick being delivered by someone in the Shuttlecraft bay. I am not sure I understand it. There was a young lady from Venus whose body was shaped like.........

YELLS PICARD: Captain to Security, come in!

DATA: Did I say something wrong?

WORF: I don't understand their humour either.

Worf is dumbfounded - When one does not have the words.

Android Data repeats limerick

Dr Beverly and Picard entertain ideas but the Enterprise-D must come first.

The crew are getting wasted, lol. The big question is who is in charge of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D while Crusher is running amok in Main engineering which isn't yet Geordi Laforges Warp Core.  Several good comedy pieces to laugh at including Beverly and Picard's craving passions over each other. Strictly professional after all the Enterprise-D relies only on Starfleet's best!

Star Trek Strange New Worlds - Saturn Award Winner

Hi Trekkers, remember watching Apollo 11 communications beamed down to earths happy blue ball of tellurians (Thats us btw) way back when?  No? Well then you're in for a treat with Star Trek Strange New Worlds. Season one has a fascinating alternate reality storyline giving us an outlook into the dynamic cosmos of the universe.

The speculative mixture of fact and fiction is really quite compelling to watch. Despite some plot twists and turns and knowing the history of Apollo and Soyuz, Star Trek Strange New Worlds boldly goes literally where no-one has gone before.  In true Sci-Fi entertainment spirit just like 2021 Star Trek Picard and Discovery which boldly grabbed three Saturn Awards for best Actor, best Supporting actor and Best Sci Fi Series

Star Trek Strange New Worlds is progress. The show has more to do with character stories and backstories while focusing less on factual events and real people Star Trek Strange New Worlds is entertaining so why dont you decide trekkies.

I can recommend all trekkers, especially those of us fascinated with space, seeking out new life forms here on United Earth to sit back and geek out with this show. I think we need unity right now too with a united earth space program, Apollo, Skylab, ASTP and the shuttle multi-cultural programs. And for those who love science fiction creators like these stars your in for a real treat  Ben Bova, Isaac Asimov,, Alex J Cavanaugh and L Diane Wolfe

The 50th Saturn Awards at the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror took place last Tuesday night with Paramounts: Star Trek Strange New Worlds winning the Saturn Award.

Awesome runner ups included. Who do you think should have won the Saturn awards

Live long and Prosper, Trekkers

Nichelle Nichols has died on 30th July 2022

Legend in her own lifetime R.I.P. Nichelle Nichols has died on the 30th July 2022: Trailblazing' actress who played the friendly Lt Uhura in Star Trek as our beloved Communications Officer aboard the USS Enterprise NCC 1701. She was 89. Nichelle Nichols broke barriers for black women in Hollywood like Whoopi Goldberg and got involved with the Space Programme NASA recruiting folks who weren't just white men but people of colour boldly recruiting  from  where no-one came before.

The youngest and third woman into space was Sally Ride. Guy Bluford was part of the original Mercury Seven. Not to mention former cosmonaut and the first person of African heritage into space in 1980, Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez - They have all become famous astronauts. Nichelle was the kind of person who could get out there and inspire imaginations. "Hailing Frequencies Open Captain" It was Martin Luther King (fan of Star Trek) who said 'You Have Been Chosen'

William Shatner Friend and Defender of Earth Boldly goes where no Blue Orgin has gone Before

Merry Christmas Trekkers and to usher in 2022 heres some Bezos and Shatner Blue Origin fanfare with their rocket shooting off into space. You'll remember the legendary captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise 1701 from Star Trek the Classic Series? Well here he is....

These are our friends, our defenders and our protectors of the United Federation of Earth. Well, good as - apparently William Shatner has gone up into Space big time Trekkers for real, (only Joan Collins is not in agreement! )😁 one to beam up Scotty!

Without hope what have we got?  I'm going up into Space, How many people can say that? Jeff Bezos Concept to make living and pollution a thing of the past.

“I’m so filled with emotion about what just happened,” the screen legend said. “It’s extraordinary. I hope I never recover from this. I hope I can maintain what I feel now.”

What do you think? Are you for or against Space exploration?

Merry Christmas Trekkers!

STAR TREK PICARD - Q IS BACK

The trial never ends. Q is back! Hey Trekkers its getting closer to that time again, Star Trek Picard Season 2 due to hit our screens again in Feb 2022. It seems the former USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D nemesis John De Lancie aka Q uses his God like powers to change the dimension of time and space throwing the former Picard and crew to an alternate timeline. Quotes de Lancie Q "annoys the s--t out of Picard" creating a totalitarian nightmare reality.

Apparently, despite Picards protest "I am way too old for your b*lls**t" fell on deaf ears Q snapped his fingers and voila? Double Trouble. Q's having fun again altering the fate of billions. The great peace keeper, diplomat and negotiator Jean Luc Picard is no more Earth is run by a dictator! Will Jeri Ryan aka Seven of Nine become a full borg in season 2?

Y is for "Yes"

Y is for "Yesss but some think Yikes!". Hi Trekkers. lots of us look at aliens and some shiver at the sight of a Vidian, Borg or Ferengi. I know my mom does. Sorry Mom. Quark dressed up as a female was a manic panic now lol - Then You've got Andorians, Tellarites, Klingons and Talosians with their enlarged veiny heads - not exactly royal beauties but great stuff for sci-fi entertainment.

To give Star Trek actors their due, I'm giving them a 7/10 for horror effect, dedication, time spent in the chair being layered up in scaly makeup. Not every alien is the same either with green Orions arousing envy in women and lust in men.

Species 8472 was a total eye opener for the crew USS Voyager NCC-74656. The Borg met their match crossing the line with these beauties who were telepathic, powerful and unassimilable - not someone to welcome home for dinner and desert. A complete game changer for Voyager and heres why. These things lived in fluidic space and had what many would call a bad attitude problem. What distinguished 8472 from traditional aliens was their arrival marked the first completely computer generated characters in Star Trek space.

QUESTION: Star Trek Voyager episode "Scorpion Part 2" introduced what actress who played Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero One? her character Seven also appears in Star Trek Picard.

Klingon Skull Stew

K is for Klingon skull stew. Ever heard of this food? This Star Trek delicacy originated on the Klingon homeworld Kronos only to find its way to Deep Space Nine... I think it might have been viewed as a mistake? on the Replimat on DS9.

Skull stew was never mentioned in dialog but a photo of the dish created by scenic artist Doug Drexler was seen on the wall of the Replimat

G is for Galactic Barrier

G is for Star Trek's Galactic Barrier where God resides. Its the big question. Is God really at the centre of the galaxy? In the heart of space - Logically science has confirmed negative energy force fields surrounding the Milky Way Galaxy. This cosmic phenomenon sizes up with the Van Allen Belt which Earth astronauts must pass through to achieve cosmic orbit above the moon.

Matter, energy, space objects, hydrogen, helium, oxygen, carbon and ultra violet radiation we know.....but the all almighty God has yet to high five us happy earthlings . Maybe a starship can take us to all corners of creation!! Travelling through the great barrier will be a dangerous mission faced with unstable cosmic phenomenon but if there’s even a chance meeting with God the journey will be worth the risk...

Live long and prosper, trekkers.

Cosmic Phenomenon in Space

C is for Cosmic Phenomenon but where is great space is it? Star Trek's starships USS Enterprise NCC 1701- A B C D and E have all encountered new worlds, civilizations during galactic voyages throughout the universe so think about it. Science has revealed space as mostly an empty void, with stars and planets making up little of its mass. Theres a lot more than matter and energy out there so say the experts but.... God is out there. As humanity reaches for the stars extraordinary interstellar phenomena like supernovas and comets paled in comparison to some of the cosmic anomalies in the mysterious realm of deep space but everyone wants to know....

What do you say to God when you find Him with a starship?

TO BOLDLY GO WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE

In the Trek universe, 21st century scientist Zefram Cochrane invented the faster than warp drive rocket in 2061 which shot Geordi, Riker and Zefram into the trekkie universe. So when Cochrane officially opened the warp five complex on earth in 2119, he coins the phrase 'where no man has gone before.' Now growing up I was happy believing in the power of these sacred holy Star Trek words because Captain James T. Kirk's of the starship U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 said them. (TOS) was sacred hallowed ground.

I guess our Star Trek heros are just keeping the trek dream alive but I must confess these words sent a little chill of excitement down my spine every time trek is boldly going on tv, the good ol days huh? It certainly begs the question. If Captain Kirk wasn't the first then.....

Who was the first space explorer to say 'Where no man has gone before?'

Zefram Cochrane
Captain Kirk
Johnathan Archer
Captain Picard

Decide now trekkers the fate of the universe depends upon it.

WHY V'GER CHOSE ILIA - STAR TREK TMP

Jerry Goldsmith wrote the music soundtrack for Star Trek the Motion Picture which later became the fanfare for Star Trek TNG. 1995 was the year I bought all 178 episodes of Star Trek TNG. Each season was 106 euro which wasn't cheap for me. Today you can buy a used Star Trek TNG Season 1 for £6.49 can you believe that?

DECKER TRYING TO REVIVE ILIAS "data memory patterns"
by placing the headband on her head but why? - When Decker begins to fall for the exact replica of "Ilia" standing before him Dr McCoy speaks up.
THIS IS JUST A MECHANISM!

I got my "I AM Spock" signed biography from leonard Nimoy that year - yeah I thought things were looking good. I was only 25 ready to explore galaxies. I remember watching Star Treks first movie with friends who loved the special effects, "star trek is cool" overall TMP is a good flick - you'll appreciate the plot is drawn from the slow moving coldness of Space Odyssey and Star Trek Changeling "Nomad" whose primary mission was to scientifically investigate new life forms.

UHURA
"I LIKE TO SING, I FELT LIKE MUSIC"
NOMAD INVESTIGATING

Conversely V'ger programming is also at the heart of TMP plot. Its awesome watching lovely android Ilia makes her grand entrance to save the universe with Decker licking his wounds as the failed rightful Captain of the starship USS Enterprise NCC 1701. Meanwhile Spocks spacewalk mindmeld reveals.....

SPOCKS SECRET SPACEWALK

" Jim, Vgers programming is incomplete. Vger is cold, barren. This simple feeling - not possible.""Vger's asking questions, is this all that I am, is there nothing more?" - Spock

The poor machine was longing for human company all along.......

WHO do you think WON the JACKPOT in Star Trek The Motion Picture?

1. Decker gets Ilia

2. Captain Kirk gets the Enterprise

3. V'ger gets Emotions

Why Star Trek canon is cooler than Star Wars and Doctor Who.

Hey Trekkers Spacerguy here. Remember our Borg buddies in 2373 Star Trek First Contact? History records Jean Luc Picard's USS Enterprise NCC 1701-E racing after the Borg Queens time travelling sphere to protect the timeline in the Alpha Quadrant. Pesky Borgs wanted to assimilate earth in the past 2063 so Picard had to act fast.

Picard pursues the Time Sphere into the Vortex to stop the damage!
thefirstfleet

The Borg Queen realized after Wolf 359 war with Federation and Worf's tough little ship spelt game over! 40 ships whooped the automatons real good didn't they? lol However a number of drones including the Borg Queen played by Alice Krige didn't give up, remember the Borg don't feel pity, they don't negotiate and will never surrender.

I am the Borg Queen. You Will Obey Me!
scifiman

Resist and You WILL be Assimilated!

The pure magnificence of the Borg's stratagem took us on a joyride because by the time Picard blew the sphere to bits the fun was just beginning. So how did our Borg buddies escape through a temporal vortex and turn earths happy ball of beings into cyborgs?

STAR TREK, Star Wars or Doctor Who -
decide now Trekkers and Trekkies
DoctorWhoOne

I am Jean Luc Picard how can this be happening to me?

The USS Enterprise-E crew soon discover Earth assimilation in a past timeline has occurred. Is it too late? Eradicating this point in time is critical! but Picards sovereign class starship is right where the Queens big plan takes shape. Heck even Data joins in the fun and why not eh? When more reinforcements from the Delta Quadrant arrives construction of the Interplexing Beacon hails more Borg buddies from the Delta quadrant, at least thats the idea!

Captain, I believe I am feeling... anxiety. It is an intriguing sensation

Borg drone passion for network transwarp conduits and technology took over "Captain Ahab's" ship in the 24th century. Lets face it, Picard wanted revenge,  I mean how would you feel about being experimented with cybernetic devices throughout your body and then we have the ultimate showdown between Picard and and Worf on the Enterprise-E bridge.

WORF: With all due respect, sir, ...I believe you are allowing your personal experience with the Borg to influence your judgement. PICARD: You're afraid. You want to destroy the ship and run away. You coward. WORF: If you were any other man I would kill you where you stand.

Long story short trekkers, The Queen hadn't counted on Dr Zefram Cochrane revolutionary space travel with the invention of the warp drive or Mr Worf blowing the Enterprise-E beacon to smithereens!

Is Resistance always futile?  Worf stopped himself from killing Picard. Why?

What did Picard say to Mr Worf on the bridge of the Enterprise-E which enraged the Klingon?

1. You're a coward now get off my bridge.

2. Your afraid, you want to destroy the ship and run away, you coward

3. Fight hand to hand but go down with the ship Mr Worf, thats an order!

LIVE LONG AND PROSPER, MY TREKKER FRIENDS.
