Kirk vs Vader

Darth Vader: Captain James T. Kirk, we meet at last. I'm glad you saw sense and decided to surrender.

Captain Kirk: When Scotty swings the Enterprise around Lord Vader, I'm going to blast you out of the stars. There'll be No surrender, just space dust.

Darth Vader: I find your lack of faith most disturbing.

Captain Kirk: Spare me the double talk Vader, when the Enterprise weapons take out your rebels, you won't have a prayer.

Darth Vader: I warn you Kirk, Don't play with the powers from the darkside. Any offensive strike made against my starship by your Starfleet militants would yield fruitless results against the most powerful force in the universe. Come join me Kirk! Together we will govern the stars and overthrow the swaggering despot Federation of Planets.

Captain Kirk: Ready with phasers Mr Spock?

Spock: Ready. He is quite mad is'nt he? Captain, I feel it necessary to point out the odds of the USS Enterprise surviving the firey deathrays of Lord Vader's star destroyer.

Captain Kirk: Damn it Spock!! Not now!! (Kirk thumps his fist on the communications console.)

Darth Vader: Listen to your man Kirk. Don't become too proud of the USS Enterprise's technological superiority, it will become your undoing Captain.

Captain Kirk: Don't try to frighten me with your warlock ways, Lord Vader. Your sad dedication to that darkside magic won't save you now. We've got phasers, photon torpedoes and a doomsday weapon.

Darth Vader: (Gasp) thats cheating!

Captain Kirk: Assimulate this Anakin!

Darth Vader: Aghh!!!! You dare to call me that!!!!!

Captain Kirk: (Thumps fist on communications console) Scotty I need warp power in two seconds or we're all dead. Spock launch the Genesis........Gasp..... I can't.... breathe.....raise ...shields......

How does it end?

Spock - Fight to the Death.

Remember Kirk's and Spock's fight to the death in Amok Time? well I betcha you never thought Jim Carey aka "Cable Guy" was keen on Star Trek? Lets warp back in time. Science Officer Spock is experiencing a loss of emotional control caused by a build up of adrenaline in his body. In this Star Trek classic we see a crazy guy Spock but there is an underlying logic to his madness.

Questions: Who stepped in and injected Kirk to give the captain a fighting chance? What class of stimulant was it and what were the overall effects?

Image Creator/Owner: Paramount Pictures or CBS Paramount Television.

Spock's in the gripping throes of Pon Farr and needs to go home to vulcan to mate. Dr. McCoy runs tests on the First Officer and tells Kirk that Spock is suffering from an imbalance of toxins that will kill him within a week, eight days max. Kirk's decision to head back to Spock's home world finally happens after much deliberation with crew members, Starfleet, and emotional upheaval for Spock.

It was Starfleet's intention to demonstrate a show of force to the Klingon Empire by sending their best Federation starships at the Altair VI border.

Dr McCoy discovers that Spock's body is being flooded with adrenaline. If the Enterprise doesn't reach Vulcan in eight days, Spock will die. So what did Starfleet say when Captain Kirk asked for authorisation?

"Forget it Kirk, he's just the half breed vulcan!!, Altair VI has top priority. Starfleet out."

At the recommendation of Dr McCoy, Kirk flatly disobeyed the chain of command and risked his starship command. In a bid to save First Officer Spock's life, the USS Enterprise 1701 diverts her course and proceeds to Vulcan in-order to find a cure for the vulchie's life threatening blood fever.

Amok Time shows us some very interesting character moments amidst a wonderful backdrop of Vulcan scenery in the Star Trek continuum. Spock meets his lovely Vulcan fiancee T'pring (pre arranged by the parents ever since their childhood by a meeting of minds.) T'pring only had plans for her secret Vulcan lover Stonn revealed after the battle.

Image Creator/Owner: Paramount Pictures or CBS Paramount Television.

T'Pau is the High Priestess who presides over the wedding ceremony, with Kirk on standby as T'pring's champion who is forced to fight a duel to the death with his best friend!! This isn't just any ordinary wedding and I was surprised to notice Spock's parents absent.

I guess Spock's mom and dad didn't have the stomachs to watch their only son slaughter innocents on their precious ancestral grounds. Star Trek fans see Spock's home world "Vulcan" for the first time in this episode with the science officer's famous words "Live Long, T'Pau and Prosper" voiced for the first time. This is just cool classic Star Trek.

Kirk agrees to fight for T'pring but is mortified to discover, its a duel to the death. Spock and Kirk are evenly matched except for the thin Vulcan air which takes its toll on the captain. McCoy gives Kirk an injection to give him a fighting chance in the Vulcan atmosphere. The fight resumes and Spock strangles Kirk, dropping his captain's apparently lifeless body to the ground. Dr McCoy steps in and confirms Spock's worst nightmare. Kirk is dead. Shock sweeps over Mr Spock snapping him out of his Plak tow blood fever. T'pring's reason for invoking the challenge is because she wants to marry Stonn. The marriage is cancelled. Back on the starship Enterprise 1701 all is revealed by Dr McCoy who faked the captain's death with a neural paralyser. Of course, Spock displays a momentary lapse of emotional control with a big grin, when he sees the captain alive.

Jim Carey did a re-enactment of the "Amok Time" with Spock and Kirk's - fight to the death duel in his "Cable Guy" movie. It was brilliant. In the duel scene you'll see why this master of crazy comedy is just so funny with Chip and Kovac slugging it out in the arena. Jim Carey's improvised "Star Trek" crazed sound effects are totally hysterical. I love how Cable Guy carries on with humming the "Amok Time" lyric as he walks away from Kovac (Broderick), triumphant and with his hands held high.

"All right you want to play rough? Daddy can play rough."
Da-na, na, na, na, na, naaa, na-naa, na, na.
"Like when Spock had to play Kirk on Star Trek, best friends forced to do battle." - Cable Guy.
"Chip this isn't funny, will you stop it!!"
"The name is Spock, if we don't battle to the death, they will kill us both." - Cable Guy.
"This isn't Star Trek" screams Kovac.

Lol. that's what Kovac thinks, try telling the Cable Guy that.

Answers: Dr. McCoy saved Captain Kirk. He stepped in with his hypospray and injected Kirk with a triox compound telling Kirk it should help him breathe better. The stimulant was in fact a neural paralyser which faked Kirk's death and saved Spock's life.

U.S.S. Enterprise Starship Surprises

Seven U.F.P. starships have carried the name Enterprise and with each ship came a crew of highly skilled individuals dedicated to their duty and captain. In Federation history, only a few of these Starfleet ships had a really distinguished service, notably the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701, U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701- A, U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701 - D, and the Enterprise NX-01.

Pictures or CBS Paramount Television.

The first Enterprise NX-01 embarked from Earth in 2151 with a high powered innovative warp five engine designed by Zefram Cochrane and Henry Archer. These were exhilarating days for Earth's Starfleet earthies and our pointy eared, Vulchies who forged new friendships in an era that would later form as the United Federation of Planets in 2161. Jonathan Archer drew the lucky straw and got to command the Enterprise NX-01. This sleek revolutionary ship paved the way with impressive technologies commonplace on federation starships today. The Enterprise NX-01 was no longer a literal flight of fantasy.

The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 is the second starship to bear the name. She was launched in 2245 from San Francisco Yards orbiting Earth and destroyed in 2285 by Kirk's hand to prevent "a lethal weapon of ultimate power" from falling into enemy Klingons hands. The USS Enterprise has become legendary thoughout the galaxy. She has had five captains. Capt Robert April first commanded her. On April 7th 2250 Capt April returned the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701 to Earth.

The Enterprise 1701 was neither lost or destroyed during her first 5 year mission of intergalactic exploration. This fact wasn't lost on Earth's citizens and elevated April's ship and crew to the status of living legends. So you see, this USS Enterprise became every fleshling's symbol of hope and inspiration in the quadrant. Starfleet Academy was swarmed with applications that year.

The USS Enterprise 1701 was the only survivor out of twelve Constitution class starships to return to Earth! Trekkies know starship dangers are commonplace in space. Its not unusual for enemy photon torpedoes and phaser blasts to break the ice between foes, followed by talks and negotiations with Picard doing his "we are a vessel of peaceful exploration" bit and Captain Kirk firing phasers first and asking questions later.

Creator/Owner: Paramount Pictures or CBS Paramount Television.

In 2251, Captain Christopher Pike took the Enterprise 1701 out for two more five year missions at the helm before Kirk. We see Pike in Star Treks "The Cage" TOS and in the Menagerie. Under General Order 7 it was forbidden to visit Talos IV. Why? and heres the shocker....... our benevolent Federation has as of 2267 the only death penalty still left on its books.

Its true! (My heart goes out to those trekkies still in shock by this news) Viewers learn about talosians and their unusual ability to project illusions in the Menagerie Part 1 and 2. (which airs on the 13th and 15th of November in cinemas across America and Canada) Starfleet sees this as a threat and in true military style forbids contact but we can still rely on good old Spock, can't we?

Next, we come to the architect and mastermind Captain James T. Kirk. This guy commanded the U.S.S. Enterprise 1701 during his rein of "peace" against the Klingons, Romulans, mad men, meglomaniac computers, powerful entities, a crazy lizard gorn and many others with the help of federation firepower. Kruge's second in command called Kirk's Enterprise a "battleship" which Kirk has used in combat to eliminate assassins when all else failed. (Not to mention blowing stuff to bits! Yeah!! Go Kirk, Go Kirk, You Are The Man.)

Creator/Owner: Paramount Pictures or CBS Paramount Television.

Commander Kruge saw Kirk's ship as an opportunity to bring the mighty Federation to its knees. The starship had after all "a weapon of ultimate power and destruction." known as the Genesis device, capable of creating and destroying entire worlds. The Enterprise 1701 was equipped with 14 science labs, 23 decks and a skilled crew, a miracle worker, photon torpedoes and phaser banks, Kirk took the Enterprise 1701 where none had ever boldly dared to go before.

James Tiberius Kirk's first five year mission lasted from 2264 to 2269 with Star Trek The Motion Picture and Captain Willard Decker in 2273. In 2286 the constitution U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-A (third starship to bear the name) was commissioned and placed under Captain Kirk's command by the Federation Council and Starfleet Command. Kirk's crew saved Earth on numerous occasions from rogue villains, lunatic machines, and evil space entities. These facts demonstrated to the citizens of the federation just how dangerous starship exploration really was and as a result the starship Enterprise became famous overnight.

Captain Picard's Galaxy Class Enterprise NCC 1701-D was the flagship of flagships. This ship was beautiful. Picard's Enterprise got thrashed in Veridian III space by a defective twenty year old Klingon bird of prey. Lursa and B'Etor ran rings around Commander William Riker and had fun blowing the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701-D to shreds. I was fuming at Enterprise's Number 1 who was calling the shots while Picard was on the Planet below. If I wanted to be mean, I could blame the Flagship of the Federation becoming a sitting duck because counsellor Troi was at the helm. That was Rikers fatal error which eventually condemned the ship. Meanwhile Geordi La Forge was losing it big time in Main Engineering.

What would the real Captain have done? In a nanosecond, Picard would have scarpered over to the helm and warped the Enterprise-D out of danger himself. I have to admit, I had a few emotional outbursts of my own that day. By now, poor Enterprise-D is really shagged and the Duras Sisters luck eventually runs out thanks to WORF, so what does Riker do next? He slams the Enterprise-D into the planet below, So yes, we can totally blame Riker for wrecking the Enterprise-D.

Under Captain Kirk's command the U.S.S. Enterprise 1701 gathered the masses and made the daily Trek News. Our trek heroes explored sci fi's fabric of reality employing faster than light engines, warp speeds, teleportation transporters, shuttlecraft, weapons and defensive systems, turbolifts, matter/antimatter engines, inertial damping fields, jefferies tubes, deflector shields, tractor beams, duotronic computers (designed by Richard Daystrom in 2243,) sensor arrays, medical facilities, engineering systems and crew quarters designed to specific Starfleet specifications.

I think Kirk should definitely have put in a word about the jefferies tubes. Why are they so small? Even Captain Picard should have considered it his duty and put in a special report to Starfleet about the design flaw and health risks to the crew. I wonder why they never did? after all there were five captains of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 and NCC 1701-A combined. Strange isn't it?

New STID Teaser Trailer 2

We've got a new STID teaser trailer on Saturday with a terrific spaceship chase and Admiral Pike reprimanding Kirk on for being a very naughty boy indeed. The terrified screaming chick yelling for dear life looks terrified out of her wits. Lets forget about Star Trek Lore, rules and regulations which influence life and death in the universe, Captain Kirk has!.

When the enemy is threatening the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701, (which crashes brilliantly into San Francisco Bay and emerges from the Nibiru Ocean,) Captain Kirk skips the formalities opting instead to manoeuvre a Millenium Falcon type shuttle in for the kill. So now its pay back time!

"He's a fugitive and I want to take him out."

I love the speedy shuttle chase in space, its exciting. The close proximity of the ship gets the heart beating faster. Chances are Captain Kirk is flying in after Cumberbatch, you know the mystery villain guy that plays Sherlock in the BBC Tv Series, which puts our 'John Harrison' villain wreaking havoc in the forefront of the entire movie.

I guess its the captains prerogative to go on away missions and flip out is a good idea. How would you feel couped up on the bridge of the Enterprise 24/7?  Its obvious our 'no win scenario' daredevil has compulsions which need constant nurturing placing the lives of everyone near him in constant danger. Pike calls Kirk a pain.

'You think the rules don't apply to you because you disagree with them."

Naturally at Kirk's command, Mr Sulu engages the warp engines by twisting and flicking a few switches except now the Starship Enterprise is in space where she belongs, so like, I'm totally confused which is a good thing. Bye Bye fish. But lets get serious for a moment.  Chris Pine the Enterprises new Captain Kirk gives Sulu a direct order to fly the ship. He doesn't say "Engage" like Picard or "Ahead Warp Factor 1" like Captain Kirk in STOS, NO! Instead Kirk says,

"Punch it."

Theres something cool about "Punch it." Burdens of command, I guess... but I still miss "Engage" "Warp Speed Ahead" and "Warp Factor Nine, Mr Sulu" don't you?

What are the odds Sulu goofs up again by forgetting about the parking brake?

Speed Long and Prosper, Trekkies and Trekkers.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

Image Owner/Creater: Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was released in 1982, directed by Nicholas Meyer with Kirk's original crew of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 defending the friendly flag of the U.F.O.P. once again. Khan is considered one of the best loved movies spawned from Star Trek's original series "Space Seed" episode. This killer sequel engages Admiral James T. Kirk (played by William Shatner) in a head on collision with his bitter adversary Khan Noonien Singh (played by Ricardo Montalban) who escapes from Ceti Alpha V's captivity, hellbent on seeking revenge upon Kirk. Khan's master plan hinges on using the *Genesis device as a diversionary tactic, so he can lure the U.S.S. Enterprise out into the open and blow her to bits to avenge the deaths for 20 of his people and his beloved wife.

Meanwhile on Earth's Presido of San Francisco at Starfleet Academy, Captain Spock is testing his cadets with the Enterprise-class Mark IV simulator. (Yes, the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 is a Constitution Class.) The Kobayashi Maru Challenge frequently wreaks havoc with students however it prepares them for the burdens of starship command.

Its nice to see the senior USS Enterprise crew back at their stations standing by Mr Spock, whose vulcan logic weeds out the wannabes from the Starfleet elite who will eventually be entrusted to captain a starship without supervision. A new generation of cadets including Spock's protege Lieutenant Saavik have to learn to conquer their fears. To sit in the captain's chair following in the Admiral's footsteps is no easy feat. Starfleet has demanding standards with only one commander having ever beaten the dreaded "no win scenario" Kobayashi Maru Test. .

Image Owner/Creater: Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

While Kirk is inspecting his new ship of eager cadets, an emergency distress call comes in to the USS Enterprise 1701 to investigate strange orders received by the science team on Space station, Regula One. The Head Scientist, Carol Marcus (played by Bibi Besch) rejects instructions from Commander Chekov to beam all equipment and materials relating to Project Genesis onboard the U.S.S. Reliant. She sends a priority message to Admiral Kirk which Khan gleefully intercepts and jams. Mr Spock relinquishes command of the Enterprise to Kirk, so the crew can investigate whos scheming to steal the Genesis Torpedo from Regula One's science team. Khan successfully cuts off the USS Enterprise's transmission forcing a violent showdown between Federation battle cruisers in a bloody battle of wits within the mysterious Mutara Nebula.

*Launched from orbit, the Genesis torpedo is designed to restructure entire planets and create new life in favour of its new matrix. In the wrong hands the torpedo has the technology to obliterate M-class worlds and all surrounding life within minutes.

Image Owner/Creater: Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

While orbiting Ceti Alpha V on the science starship USS Reliant, Commander Chekov's long range scans discover a planet apparently devoid of life. However his dynoscanner readings detect a minor energy flux from the planet surface. Further investigation is necessary in order for the Genesis experiment to proceed. The Reliant's survey missions provide fresh data for the Regula geeks so they can run scientific simulation tests. Ceti Alpha V was a major breakthrough for Carol Marcus and her Science team because it meant they finally had a planet from which to launch the Genesis device thus theoretically creating new life. But Regulas technological marvel isn't exactly all its cracked up to be! Saavik is unimpressed when she finds out why the torpedoes designer, David Marcus cheated by adding protomatter deep within its beating heart!

Chekov and Captain Terrel beam down to the planet surface of Ceti Alpha V to investigate and discover very faint traces of life. The planet looks deserted and completely barren from the aftershock of an awful disaster. A sand blizzard is stirring up but Commander Chekov ploughs on and discovers Botany Bay's cargo carriers in the dunes. Once inside closer inspection reveals carefully arranged living quarters. Chekov recognises the derelict as the SS Botany Bay and the gravity of the situation suddenly becomes clear.

Image Owner/Creater: Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

A masked man mysteriously appears with his warriors preventing Chekov and Captain Terrel from escaping. He blocks their path with good reason. The man and his followers were marooned on Ceti's sand heap by Captain James Tiberius Kirk 15 years ago. The mask is slowly peeled back to reveal a weather beaten face with cruel eyes striking terror into Chekov and Terrel's hearts. Chekov's eyes freeze upon the master criminal standing before him as they are held captive by the strongmen in Khan's gang.

"Khan!"
Khan is startled by the recognition and examines Chekov and Terrel.

"I don't know you, but you!! I never forget a face. Mister Chekov, isn't it?"

"I never thought to see your face again."
Chekov has a go at Khan and calls him a murderer.

"This is Ceti Alpha V!" yells Khan to Chekov in a frenzied fit of rage however after calming down, the exhiled prince of millions decides to explain.

"Ceti Alpha VI exploded six months after we were left here. The shock wave shifted the orbit of this planet and everything was laid in waste. Admiral Kirk never bothered to check on our progress. It was only the fact of my genetically engineered intellect that allowed us to survive..."

Image Owner/Creater: Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

The planets indigenous ceti eels have become Khan's "Pets" which were responsible for killing his wife. The ex-prince of millions swears revenge on Kirk and captures the USS Reliant with the help of his mind controlling little friends using Chekov and Captain Terrel who are now under his control. The Reliant's crew has been replaced by Khan's warriors who have sworn an oath to serve and die at his command. At the helm is Joachim, Khan's lieutenant. He is the brightest of Khan's group. Terrell sits in the First Officer's chair, Chekov at the Comm Console. Their behaviour seems normal except for the subtle hesitation, symptoms from the Ceti eels controlling their minds slowly driving them towards inevitable madness.

Captain Spock yields command of the USS Enterprise to the Admiral, after all the vulchie has no ego to bruise and Kirk knows it. The Enterprise heads to Regula One at warp speed. En route, Kirk briefs McCoy and Spock about the Genesis Torpedoes powerful technology capable of transforming entire planets from lifeless rocks to habitable planets within minutes. Spock logically points out,

Image Owner/Creater: Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

"It has always been easier to destroy than to create." The vulchies calmness about life and death sends Dr McCoy spinning off the deep end.

"Not anymore! Now we can do both at the same time. According to myth, the Earth was created in six days. Now watch out! Here comes Genesis, we'll do it for you in six minutes."

"Really, Dr McCoy. You must learn to govern your passions, they will become your undoing." replies Spock sweetly.

As the Enterprise approaches the silent USS Reliant, the admiral's crew become living shooting targets for Khan's merry men. Khan is preparing to deliver the final killing blow to his old friend Admiral James T. Kirk. His tortured mind exhibits an insane camaraderie that makes me smile every time he expresses his warm sentiments towards Admiral Kirk. Khan enjoys harking on about the good old days. He's been savouring his moment of victory for 15 years and hails the USS Enterprise 1701 with the good news that he's going to swing round and blow them to bits. For a space terrorist, Khan demonstrates an awesome sense of fair play but his procastination is his achilles heel which gives the USS Enterprise a fighting chance to strike back.

Image Owner/Creater: Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

Kirk and Spock input the Reliant's prefix code 16309 into the USS Enterprise's tactical station to order Reliant to lower her shields. I love this bit. Yessss! Woo Hoo! blow that sucker to bits!!! It actually works because Khan did'nt change the code combination. Significant damage is inflicted upon Reliant's photon controls and warp drive causing a temporary stalemate in the middle of Khan's little war.
Warlord Khan is furious and struggles back to his feet yelling, Fire! Fire! But its too late. The Reliant was badly hammered with debris and wiring strewn all over Terrell's bridge after Spock's and Kirk's nifty trick. Lieutenant Joachim points out that the USS Enterprise isn't going anywhere forcing the Reliant to retreat. The Admiral's ship has taken a heavy beating. Kirk withdraws the Enterprise from battle so the crew can make best speed to Regula One's Research labs.

Kirk's landing party discovers murdered bodies swinging from Regula Ones beams, however in stark contrast to Starfleet operating procedure the transporters have beamed something into the heart of a nearby apparently lifeless, asteroid. Khan's men have left a visible trail of destruction strewn all over the Genesis station. The Regula Scientists are no-where to be seen except for a handful of dead technicians who suffered unspeakable deaths at the cruel hands of Khan. Kirk's landing party follow the trail of death and discover Captain Terrel and Chekov.

Image Owner/Creater: Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

Kirk hesitates but finally decides. "Lets go"
Dr Leonard McCoy takes serious issue with transporters scrambling his molecules and scattering them half way throughout the universe, so he can be forgiven for asking:

"Go? Where are we going?"
Kirk points to the console, "Where they went." Kirk walks onto the transporter pad as Saavik works the console with the beam down co-ordinates still intact in the main energizers. The others join Kirk.

Bones is not a happy man. "But what if they went -- noo-where?"

Kirk "Then this will be your big chance to get away from it all."

David Marcus runs into his father Admiral James T. Kirk in the Genesis cave where the "doomsday" device is stored. A fight ensues with David brandishing a knife at Kirk with Carol Marcus consequently spilling the beans. Father and son stare at each other with shocked disbelief turning them to stone. Bones, Jedda and Chekov turn to look at Carol, wondering. Terrel very casually takes the phaser from Jedda.

Image Owner/Creater: Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

Theres another surprise in store when Chekov and Terrell shock Kirk with news about Khan. The ex-prince of millions been listening in all along and now knows the exact co-ordinates of the Genesis device. Like a good soldier Captain Terrell obeys the princes orders but Khan wants more.

"Captain... We're waiting. What's the delay?" queries Khan.

Terrell is severely conflicted by his loyalty to Starfleet, while his mind battles for control opposing the juvenile ceti creature and suggestions from Khan to kill Admiral Kirk.

"All is well, sir. You have the coordinates to beam up Genesis..."
Khan is persistent. "First things first, Captain, KILL Admiral Kirk."

Only Kirk and Bones have sneaking suspicions on their faces. David is stunned with shocked disbelief and makes a wild lunge at Terrel who accidently phasers Jedda into stardust. Chekov is close to a seizure. Its obvious to everyone, Captain Terrel is fighting conflicting mental signals.

"Excellency... it is difficult. I try to obey, but...."

Khan's voice echoes around the Genesis cave. "KILL HIM."

Image Owner/Creater: Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

As though tearing off a leach, Terrell grabs at the wrist recorder and flings it to the ground. A shock wave of screeching ceti eels rings through Terrell's head. He recovers, trembling, realising that he can no longer take orders from a denebian slime devil. Chekov is shaking badly. Terrell turns his phaser away from Admiral Kirk while Chekov's hands are frozen in time pointing his phaser at the good guys. Khan hasn't given up on Terrell.

"Kill him, Terrel. Now!"

Then, shockingly: Terrell turns his phaser on himself resisting Khan. Terrell goes out in agonising style, vaporising himself into oblivion. The Ceti eel crawls out of Chekov's ear. It has grown quite large. Chekov breaks free from the creatures hypnotic control, and once again Khan has failed to kill Kirk. Kirk grabs Terrels wrist communicator from the floor.

"Khan, you bloodsucker, they're finished! You'll have to do your own dirty work now. Do you hear me? Do you?"

" Kirk! Kirk, you are still alive..... my old friend..."

In the Rocky Cavern the transporter beam locks on to the Genesis torpedo and its arming control box. As Kirk and the others watch, horrified, Khan beams up the materials. David tries to reach the torpedo, but Saavik holds him fast with Khan leaving the Enterprise party stranded forever, buried alive!

"KKKKHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNN!!!!!!!!!"

Carol Marcus shows Kirk the Genesis Cave, an Edenic environment created in the heart of a previously dead world and proof Genesis works. Kirk reveals to Saavik the conclusion of the Genesis no-win scenario. He picks up his communicator.
"Spock, this is Kirk. It's two hours. Are you ready?"

"Spock here. Right on schedule, Admiral. Just give us your coordinates and we'll beam you aboard."
Kirk cheats death again by tricking Khan whose two dimensional intellect serves only to play into the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 hands. Shes not as heavily damaged as Khan was led to believe. Mr Spock lied! They return to the ship and lure Khan into the nearby Mutara Nebula. Kirk has to outsmart Khan because the Enterprise has lost its warp power. The Reliant is eventually crippled after a game of cat and mouse and everyone but Khan is killed.

Image Owner/Creater: Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

Rather than surrender, Khan activates the Genesis Device to take out his opponents who are close by and without warp drive. The wounded Enterprise can't escape in time from the Genesis countdown which delights Khan in his dying moments. Spock hurries to the USS Enterprise's engine room, and enters a high radiation area after depositing his "Katra" in Dr McCoys mind. It's fascinating to observe how the vulcan's "emotional outburst" succeeded in restoring warp power to the Enterprise engines, whereas Spock's logic was powerless to convince Dr McCoy. So the sly vulcan slips the good doctor with a vulcan neck pinch giving him a major headache. Tragedy strikes when our beloved Spock receives a lethal dose of radiation and dies. Mr Spock gave his life to save his ship and crewmates from the Genesis death wave with the movie ending with a funeral service for the heroic Vulcan. This was a real tear jerking moment for trek fans, watching Admiral Kirk and Spock saying goodbye hit hard at the very core of Trekkie defences!.... "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one."

Image Owner/Creater: Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

Many fans consider this movie to be "real" Trek, accurate in areas of characterization, and involving a people-oriented plot which was one of the things that made Trek work, demands for Spock's return in a third movie "The Search for Spock."(1984) were made worldwide. More Star Trek movies followed with Leonard Nimoy right up to Star Trek XI.You can wipe away the tears now. XD.

Guest stars include some famous names: Bibi Besch, Merritt Butrick, Paul Winfield, Kirstie Alley, Ricardo Montalban, and Ike Eisenmann. John Winston reprises his role from the Original series as Lieutenant Kyle (Transporter Chief), and Teresa Victor, Harve Bennett was the fi!m's executive producer as well as the writer (with Jack B. Sowards}. James Horner scored the film and Lucasfilm`s Industrial Light and Magic team directed the special effects.

Star Trekkin' across the Universe.

I love this original version of the Firm's song "Star Trekking across the Universe." So I've added the lyrics so you can join in the fun and sing along. What I can't figure out is what happened to the Klingons? Weren't they supposed to appear off the starboard bow? maybe they're hiding somewhere.... Enjoy your Star Trekking, Trekkers.

Star Trekkin' across the universe,
On the Starship Enterprise under Captain Kirk.
Star Trekkin' across the universe,
Boldly going forward 'cause we can't find reverse.

Lt. Uhura, report.

There's Klingons on the starboard bow, starboard bow, starboard bow;
there's Klingons on the starboard bow, starboard bow, Jim.

Analysis, Mr. Spock.

It's life, Jim, but not as we know it, not as we know it, not as we know it; it's life, Jim, but not as we know it,

not as we know it, Captain.

There's Klingons on the starboard bow, starboard bow, starboard bow;
there's Klingons on the starboard bow, starboard bow, Jim.

Star Trekkin' across the universe,
On the Starship Enterprise under Captain Kirk.
Star Trekkin' across the universe,
Boldly going forward, still can't find reverse.

Medical update, Dr. McCoy.

It's worse than that, he's dead, Jim, dead, Jim, dead, Jim;
it's worse than that, he's dead, Jim, dead, Jim, dead.

It's life, Jim, but not as we know it, not as we know it, not as we know it; it's life, Jim, but not as we know it,

not as we know it, Captain.

There's Klingons on the starboard bow, starboard bow, starboard bow;
there's Klingons on the starboard bow, starboard bow, Jim.

Starship Captain, James T. Kirk:

Star Trek Into Darkness Clues

Star Trek Into Darkness

Release Date: May 17, 2013
Director: J. J. Abrams.

Written By: Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Damon Lindelof.

Cast: Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve, Bruce Greenwood.

Star Trek Into Darkness is bringing war to the streets of earth with John Harrison whom we suspected was Khan. Forget about Optimism. Hope for the future is long gone! Well, well.... what about its not all over.... wails the devoted trekkie fan. "

Look no further than the Baftas, Alice Eve has denied Cumberbatch is playing Khan which spoils the fun, really. Maybe shes hiding something! Its funny when she says J.J. Abrams has become the ultimate geek hero! So get ready to ship out to the next universe, you know the dark one! Star Trek Into Darkness is romancing fans with life and death.

In the wake of a shocking act of terror from within their own organization, the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth. In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

The villain, Cumberbatch has been  described as a terrorist, a member of Starfleet on a mission leaving behind a trail of destruction.

So who is John Harrison, I mean REALLY? In order to figure this one out, we must eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. Alice Eve playing Dr Carol Marcus gives us clueless trekkers something to sink our teeth into. Shes Captain Kirk's ex-sweetheart in the Wrath of Khan. So why is Abrams bringing a Federation Molecular biologist into the movie? Lets not forget her boy, David Marcus the scientist, who played with protomatter and developed a Doomsday Weapon with dear ol' mom, Carol, on Spacelab Regula 1. So perhaps... Cumberbatch playing Khan-type character makes sence after all! There! by Jumping Jupiter I've cracked it. If you've got any better theories..... speak up darn it, or I'll send McCoy after you!

You'll be glad to hear, Keenser, Scotty's alien side kick is coming back! Remember him?

ME! Shut Up!

Treks Into Darkness villainous mysteries just keep getting deeper and deeper. Its self evident John Harrison is the smokescreen. We know Benedict Cumberbatch's villain is out for revenge but oddly, tells the grieving father he can save his sick daughter in the first 9 minutes of the movie. So no Khan, Alice Eve put that rumor to rest, finally? So who is Harrison? Aren't you scratching your head?

In the Super Bowl trailer Harrison says hes better at everything which is trektastic. To trip out some more lets warp ahead to 2267. Captain Kirk records a commendation for Harrison when the bridge of the Enterprise is slowly deprived of life support during Khan's takeover attempt. (Space Seed, TOS.) Yes you gotta love Star Trek lore, its so fascinatingly deep. Tellingly, Captain Kirk doesn't recognize "Harrison" in Star Trek Into Darkness movie trailer, which is weird but then the year is 2259 and so their paths haven't crossed until like now. Star Trek's Encyclopedia states Harrison is a Starfleet Crew Member aboard the original USS Enterprise NCC 1701 in 2267. So who is Cumberbatch's villain? I think this quote sums up treks mystery villain: I've found that evil usually triumphs...unless good is very, very careful.

For reading my entire into darkness rave, you deserve a super prize, LOL. Seriously, I'm really impressed and somehow Spacerguy will find a way to reward you!

Who do you think Benedict Cumberbatch is playing?  Is he Gary Seven, a Khan clone or a Moon Shuttle Conductor?

Khan : I am better
Captain Kirk: At What?
Khan: Everything!

Ready, Captain?
Get me outta here, Scotty.
Are you mad? Are ye out of your vulcan mind? The engines can't take much more of this!

Khan: You think you world is safe? Kirk: Who the hell are you?

Khan: It is an illusion. A comforting lie told to protect you. Enjoy these final moments of peace. For I have returned to have my vengeance. So, shall we begin?

Is there anything you would not do for your family?
I'm Family! Me!!! (Keenser, Scotty's loyal side kick is back!)

Pike: There's greatness in you, but there's not an ounce of humility. You think that you can't make mistakes, but there's going to come a moment when you realize you're wrong about that, and you're going to get yourself and everyone under your command killed.

Scotty's explanation to Captain Kirk

Remember Star Trek's TOS episode "The Trouble with Tribbles?" Captain Kirk soon discovers what Scotty and Chekov were brawling about on the K-7 Deep Space station. Here's Scotty's and Kirk's funny dialogue word for word.

(Except thats Chief O'Brien!! played by Colm Meaney. Whats he doing in this photo shot?)

Owner/Creater: Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

Scotty: Well, captain, er, the Klingons called you a tin plated over bearing swaggering dictator with

delusions of godhood.
Capt. Kirk: Is that all?
Scotty: No sir, they also compared you with a Denebian slime devil.
Capt. Kirk: I see.
Scotty: And then they said you were...
Capt. Kirk: I get the picture, Scotty.
Scotty: Yes, sir.
Capt. Kirk: And after they said all this, that's when you hit the Klingons.
Scotty: No, sir.
Capt. Kirk: No?
Scotty: No, er, I didn't. You told us to avoid trouble.
Capt. Kirk: Oh, yes.
Scotty: Well, I didn't see it was worth fighting about. After all, we're big enough to take a few insults,

aren't we?
Capt. Kirk: What was it they said that started the fight?
Scotty: They called the Enterprise a garbage scow. Sir.
Capt. Kirk: I see. And *that's* when you hit the Klingon?
Scotty: Yes, sir.
Capt. Kirk: You hit the Klingons because they insulted the Enterprise, not because they...
Scotty: Well, sir, this was a matter of pride!
Capt. Kirk: All right, Scotty dismissed. Oh, Scotty, you're restricted to quarters until further notice.
Scotty: Yes, sir. Thank you, sir. That'll give me a chance to catch up on my technical journals.

The Evil Captain Kirk

Heres a couple that looks real sweet but I wonder what have these two been up to? Kirk looks like the cat that got the cream hugged by friendly Janice Rand from Star Trek's 'The Enemy Within.'

What happens when a transporter malfunction goes beserk and splits Captain Kirk into two beings, one indecisive and the other a violent hell-bent lunatic with inappropriate desires for the lovely yeoman here played by Grace Lee Whitney?

The dark side of Captain Kirk runs amok aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701 and creates havoc for Sulu who is stuck with the landing party freezing on the planet surface. The Enemy Within does a brilliant science fiction twist on Robert Louis Stevenson's 'the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde' which is pure awesome.

Spock figures out that the 'Captain' requires both aspects of the 'Kirk personality' to function as a complete whole. Its really neat watching the good Kirk procrastinating over whether to allow Scotty and Spock use the transporter to restore him with his 'evil' twin.

Would you want to mind meld permanently with the EVIL Captain Kirk?

Star Trek Movie XI

Great Galactic Space. I had to set my shields to maximum to survive the rush of this movie trailer. Will Star Trek XI usher in new generation of Star Trek fans? "Emotions are alien to me - I am a scientist." Mr Spock has conned us into believing in the past but I'm confused. Is'nt the movie a kind of warp back in time? Young Spock must be going through one of his ancestral animal urges or you could just blame it on the weaker human half. Remember this line, when you're watching Spock lose his cool. "I will not allow you to lecture me." says the vulcan in a rage. Spock's raw emotions surface but so do Rachel Nichols in a scene with the corvette murderer, James Tiberius Kirk.

The new trailer is filled with plenty of action packed entertainment and a stylish USS Enterprise starship or is it the USS Kelvin? or whatever..... in an epic space battle which engages a Romulan Warbird. Captain Christopher Pike gives the order to "prepare to fire all weapons."

Those words remind me of favourite battle scenes because its the sort of command Picard would have used to alert his crew, now Kirk's style, we know is different. He does'nt ask questions or engage in too much diplomacy which can be used to prolong a crises and Captain James Tiberius Kirk hates double talk. "Buckle up." and slapping his crewmates on the back is more Kirk's style. Well lets just take it as a given, right? or is he the worst Captain in the Fleet, perhaps you hate the guy? Don't be shy now...

When the enemy is threatening the U.S.S. Enterprise 1701, Captain Kirk skips the formalities opting instead to maneuver "his" ship in for the kill. At the Captains command, Mr Checkov readies the phasers and photon torpedoes at full power. Kirk's cunning eyes spot the enemy ship's weakest moment and without hesitation the order to fire is given. "Mr Checkov lock weapons and fire!" I think Abrams included the cop chasing corvette scene to demonstrate Kirk's daredevil compulsion and nerves of steel in what are considered crucial characteristics of a noteworthy Starship Captain.

Romulans are unlike their stoic "Cousins" the vulcans and I'm fascinated to see how Leonard Nemoy's character "Spock" plays out in the film. Romulans are driven by their passions and its no coincidence Mr Spock and a bad ass Romulan "Nero" with blood ties are in the same movie. Given half a chance, Nero will blow the Enterprise out of the stars. But what about the time honoured traditions of the Federation, Starfleet General Orders/Regulations and the Prime Directive?

Wired has reported on the reaction to the four clips shown at the Los Angeles gathering. "It's safe to say that Abrams' Trek will be younger, brighter, busier and more frenetically paced than any previous incarnation," said the reviewer. "The performances are edgier and louder, but not better. The effects are spectacular and executed on a scale never attempted by any Trek film. And, while connected to Gene Roddenberry's creation, this film is deliberately and unquestionably built in its own universe, constructing its story on the idea that the original Star Trek time line has been destroyed and must be reconstructed as closely as possible."

Its a fair bet there will be less geekiness and more action drama scenes in this movie with spacebabe Zoe Saldana taking her top off and another spacebabe hitting it off with the new Captain Kirk, who told Eonline he did get his groove on with the "green" Rachel Nichols.

FANBOY COMMENTS.

Star Trek has always had a stigma of being geeky and misunderstood by many people. Hopefully, if this trailer is anything to go by, then we are finally looking at a Star Trek Film which has style, heaps of action and ass-kicking sci-fi entertainment in abundance and not just appealing to die hard fans such as me, but for the wider audience in general.Lets be eternally grateful that Star Trek has been given another
chance, a top director, an awesome cast, a huge budget and a sh*tload of Industrial
Light and Magic visual effects on top.

What kind of kid would tell a cop his full name? A kid who thinks he's destined for great things.

jbunn01 Stupid little kid just toasted an antique 280 year old Corvette. Punk a*sed kirk....

You're used to seeing a more mature Spock, who's suppressed his human side. This movie deals with a younger Spock, who has to battle his half-human emotions and half-Vulcan expectations.

Spock: "Quite correct, Mister Chekov. What is required now is a feat of
linguistic legerdomain and a degree of intrepidity, before the captain and Doctor McCoy freeze to death."

please i hope mccoy says
"hes dead jim"
"dammit jim im a doctor not a ...."

I wanna know why Spock's beating on Kirk.

Shut up Trekkies. I don't even like Star Trek and I see that movie is gonna be good.

Don't forget to put fuses in the consoles, too. Now instead of the console blowing up in your face, the fuse just goes poof. How many lives could have been saved with seatbelts and circuit breakers?

Star Trek Phase II

James Cawley aka Captain James T. Kirk of the starship Enterprise 1701 has positively boldly gone where no trekkie has gone before. Yes, our Internet Captain Kirk is a huge Trekker fan with specialist knowledge of Star Trek. Cawley's Internet production, Star Trek New Voyage's (phase II) resumes using the same Star Trek Original Series continuity. It picks up the thread where the USS Enterprise 1701 left off in 1969, with treasured Original Series actors and new talent adding cosmic greatness to satisfy our trek cravings. The internet universe has been alive with eager trekkers tuning in for more episodes ever since January 2004. Blood and Fire is a two part episode currently in post production with the completion date for Part I set for April 2008. There are several more episodes being written for the popular Star Trek Phase II show.

st new voyages

In 2264, Captain James T. Kirk began his first historic five-year mission as Captain of the Enterprise. Our TOS heroes Scotty, McCoy, Spock, Uhura, Nurse Chapel, Sulu and Chekov have entertained us with space battles and inspired us with fundamentally good human beliefs. Star Trek captains have always used reason over violence to negotiate with trigger happy villians, murderers and lunatics to prevent wars and loss of carbon life forms. Picard is a true master at negotiation. It does'nt always work though.

What impresses me the most about Starfleets officers is their tough resilient nature and interstellar survival skills. It takes rare gut instincts, theory, logic, training and experience to make a groovy starfleet captain. Their resolute minds of courage and firm belief in confronting and rooting out evil skins often leads to finding logical and scientific solutions. But its essential that starship captains can look beyond the empirical and see the bigger picture. As Captain, Kirk is responsible for all the lives and actions of his crew under his command.

When staring death in the face, it is vital that the captain's decisive mind make the best deduction and do it in a matter of seconds, leaving no stone unturned. Whole starsystems and thousands of lives have been saved by quick thinking and if that means "Mr sulu, set phasers to maximum intensity, Fire! Fire! Fire!" Then yes, we've seen the USS Enterprise neutralise many hostile enemy ships. Yesss! Make it so! Bye, Bye, Suckers!

Star Trek is great! People have discovered Star Trek's profound philosophy of peace with its postive interpretation of the future and they like it! After all who wants to live in a war torn universe with no hope for the future? Star Trek's sci fi characters have been our guides as we imagined warping with them to freaky new worlds on tv. They have been our protectors. They have invited us into their hearts and made us part of the trek family.

In fact, Kirk's crew became even more popular with star trek conventions, science fiction fanzines fan fictions, numerous books, memorabilia and multi million dollar movies following.

In April 2003 Star Trek New voyages was created by James Cawley and Jack Marshall. The first episode of the series was released in January 2004. In February 16th 2008, James Cawley announced that Star Trek "New Voyages" would be changing to the name Star Trek "Phase II to account for the period of time between the Original Series and Star Trek, The Motion Picture.

In Harms Way

We have been promised, my trek readers, by James Cawley himself that despite the shows name change, the show will remain focused on Star Treks original philosophy, wonderful starship designs, costume and set designs etc, and its fascinating characters. James Cawley describes himself as a purist, not a trekkie or trekker which is interesting in itself and as a self professed purist, he has produced Star Trek Phase II (New Voyages) with really classy sets, props, costumes and neat touches.

It looks like the Enterprise designs are detailed reproductions based on original blueprints. They're that good. James did'nt wan't to see the USS Enterprise 1701 or the show changed and its obvious Cawley's passion with his talented crew shining beside him speak volumes. Personally as a trekkie fan for over twenty years..." Captain the crew of the Enterprise are far exceeding the expectations of the many trekkers here on earth. These guys should feel really proud and I thankyou all. It looks like all James Cawley's hard work is now paying off with a lucky chance meeting at the Paramount Studios lot with J.J.Abrams. It actually led to the Phase II captain Kirk being offered a role in the Star Trek XI movie.

Star Trek Generations

G is for Generations. Star Trek Generations was released in 1994, directed by David Carson. 78 years after the Enterprise-B's mysterious encounter with a energy portal the past and future collide.  This movie engages TNG in a galactic rescue mission of epic proportions by enlisting the help of Captain Kirk whos stuck in a magical place. The films baddie, Dr Tolian Soran will do anything to re-capture the family he lost by opening a "doorway" in an energy ribbon zipping through space. Kirk and Picard team up in a final battle as the "Captains on the Bridge" determined to defeat the El-Aurian madman Soran. The plot thickens when Klingon sisters Lursa and B'Etor kidnap the USS Enterprise-D's Chief Engineer, Geordi and doctor his VISOR! Its a whole different ballgame now with Picard on Veridian III giving Commander Riker his big chance in the captain's chair without a safety net!

The movie earned mixed reviews from critics, as it currently holds a 48% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 46 reviews. So okay, lets get serious for a second, whoever dreamed up captain 'under the bridge' deserves to be beamed onto an asteroid penal colony infested with hungry Salt Vampires and left there for all eternity. Captain Kirk's death is an ill conceived ending for Star Trek's greatest defender of the galaxy. Kirk's demise was sorrowful and deserved so much more for such a heroic, intrepid, interstellar explorer of the Final Frontier. Jeremy Conrad of IGN gave the film a score of 7 out of 10, calling it "one of the better of the odd numbered Trek films," referring to a belief that even numbered Star Trek films are traditionally of higher quality.

The idea of Captain Kirk's death was originally mooted by writers Brannon Braga and Ronald Moore so Paramount Pictures insisted they consult William Shatner. Everyone was surprised Shatner was cool about his demise except us trekkies, of course. Shatner eventually realised it was too late to back out and admitted he was genuinely saddened by his characters death. Loyal fans vowed to "Bring Back Kirk" with a an exciting internet campaign except resurrecting Kirk was never meant to be, sniff.

Khan Noonien Singh is a Dynamic,Powerthirsty, Ruthless, Notorious Superhuman

Khan Noonien Singh the ex-prince of Earth's millions, how that must have hurt. Genetically engineered and Superhuman, this merciless, charming, cutthroat was on a quest for revenge. People who stood in his path were eliminated with the flick of a phaser or at a given command. He was ruthless, calculating, mentally superior, aggressive and ambitious. The perfect respected, ruthless, leader.

There was a time from 1992 to 1996 when Khan was the ruling prince of millions on Earth. Where there was chaos, the prince offered order. He was a popular tyrant who ruled fairly and was worshipped by one quarter of the planets population. Khan's fellow super humans meanwhile were busy changing the balance of power on earth, fighting and enslaving the population. Except for Khan's corner of the world, hostile warring became part of daily life.

Eventually Khans luck ran out. For four years, the supreme commander, His Excellency, dictated order to his Kingdom of People on Earth. In 1996 Earthlings opposed the super humans. Khan was stripped of power, defeated and humiliated, along with his remaining sworn to die subjects. They evaded capture by fleeing the planet aboard the S.S.Botany Bay.

The starship displayed here is USS Enterprise NCC-1701 constitution class. After her historic five year voyage, she returned intact to Earth. Kirks gallant crew of explorers rose to the status of living legends, with a following of fans in their millions, well known across the galaxy today.

Spaceflight gained popular momentum on Earth with these powerful Federation vessels in service. Starfleet Command had to swallow their secret plans to decommission this twenty-five year old Federation Flagship due to the fact that the Enterprise had become legendary. The Admiralty approved a refit for political reasons giving the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 the full green light! Soon word spread throughout subspace. Starfleet's Core of Engineers were being dispatched to the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701! The Enterprise refit was official now and no longer a joke at Starfleet Academy. Scotty's beloved engines were being pryed apart by engineering outsiders. The Core Engineers carefully decommission vital mechanisms of the warp engines in which matter and antimatter are combined safely eliminating any danger of a warp core breach. Another Engineering team moves in and installs the new FWG-1 warp engine components under the watchful eyes of Scotty who scrutinizes their every move. Captain Kirk's Enterprise was in dry dock, and was living proof of an outstanding success story in the eyes of the enchanted people of planet Earth. It was important no-one goof this up because at the time the Enterprise was a remarkable symbol of hope for all humanity.

Image Copyright Belongs to
Paramount Pictures and/or CBS Studios.

Instead of dismantling the ship, Starfleet finally approved Enterprise's refit which was long overdue. Since 2190 when she was launched into the mysterious depts of space and the great unknown, the USS Enterprise 1701 couldn't spare the time for a full refit. Instead she returned to starbases to have her systems periodically repaired and updated. Four overhauls were carried out but now the ship technologies were obsolete. Chief Engineer Scott and the Starfleet Core of engineers oversaw refit of Enterprise. Leeding Engines Ltd were chosen and given the contract to install the new FWG-1 warp nacelles which replaced the old Shuvinaaljis Warp Technologies Model FWF-1 nacelles which had faithfully served the Enterprise for the last 25 years.

Federation Starships, Federation Planets, Federation Star bases, Federation Spy posts, Federation Involvement, Federation do-gooders and overhead fluttering in the breeze the flag of the UNITED FEDERATION of PLANETS. All of this pomp and ceremony, Khan couldn't have cared less. His days of leadership brought him back to a daydream when it seemed he had the power to control millions. Khans Kingdom predated even the mighty Federation. However, Khan's current location on Ceti Alpha V bugged him the most. The planets twin Ceti Alpha VI blew up and affected the orbit of Ceti Alpha V turning it into a barren sand heap. The living conditions were horrible for Khan and his dear wife who died a slow death traced to one of the planets indigenous lifeforms. The Ceti Eel. The Ex-Prince of Earth and ruler of Ceti's sand dunes couldn't fathom why Captain Kirk did not check on their progress. Khan vowed to escape Ceti's dunes before he and his Botany Bay followers perished on Ceti Alpha V for good.

When The USS Enterprise NCC 1701 first encounter Khan and eighty of his crew on a sleeper ship, the SS Botany Bay, Captain Kirk's landing party awakens them from their cryogenic deep sleep into the 23rd century. That was Kirk's first mistake. Khan attempts to take control of the USS Enterprise and when he fails in his bid to murder James Tiberius Kirk, Khan is exiled to Ceti Alpha V. Kirks Enterprise deposits Khan, a now stripped, powerless leader of nothing along with his loyal band of subjects, who accompany him to the new fruitful, bountiful planet. Marla McGivers goes with Khan to be his wife with ambitions of creating a new civilisation and starting a family which all turned to dust six months later. The ex-ruler had a dream of creating a new world order, which was destroyed forever more when Ceti Alpha VI blew to to bits.

Kirk is furious and demands:

What is the meaning of this attack?

Where is the crew of the Reliant?

Khan attempts to influence Chekov after Terrell vaporises himself, but like a true human weakling, Pavel Chekov collapses in a heap. I suppose I shouldn't be too hard on him. The Ceti Eel crawls its way out of his ear, smearing its body along the ground making its mark. Pavel had the Ceti Eel wrapped around his Cerebral Cortex which meant he was easily affected by Khan's power of suggestion. Starfleet's finest were struggling to control their emotions of disgust at the mere sight of the Ceti Eel with eventual gasps of revulsion deciding the the creatures fate. Kirk points his phaser and vaporises Chekov's slimey tormentor. Grabbing the wristband device, Kirk yells,
"Khan , you bloodsucker, you'll have to do you're own dirty work now! do you hear me? do you?"

Earths thoughtful Tyrant of world order is swamped with feeling towards Kirk. Circling high above the planet in the Reliant, Khan has good reason for pause and is in deep reflection. His eyes roll in his head in sheer awe and wonder at Kirks continuous lucky escapes. Khan decides to keep Admiral James T Kirk talking until he gets the co-ordinates of the Federation's Genesis "Doomsday"Device and beams it aboard the Reliant.

"KIRK! Kirk you're still alive - my old friend...." affection can be heard in the Princes voice.

"Still OLD FRIEND! You've managed to kill just about everyone else, but like a poor marksman, you keep missing the target!" responds Kirk , clearly enraged by Khans wrathful ways.

"Perhaps I no longer need to try! I shall leave you as you left me marooned in the centre of a dead planet....buried alive!" declares an avenged Khan who says no more.

"Khan...Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannn!!"

Star Trek Wallpapers

U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Image Owner/Creator: Tobias Richter

I enjoy looking at Tobias Richter's Star Trek wallpapers from "Light Works." The galaxies greatest starships have been transformed into hyper comic 3d visuals bursting with creative imagination. I just wish I could be there! These Star Trek starships are an amazing feat of engineering in high resolution wallpapers. You've done Scotty proud, Tobias. Sciencefictionstuff put me wise to these stunning Federation battle cruisers seeking out new life forms and commanding a peaceful military presence along the Federation Neutral Zone. Federation Officers do look mighty fine in their Starfleet uniforms aboard their spaceships, but the word peace just doesn't sit well with the Klingons and Romulans..... or does it?
Thanks Tobias!

Scotty: "Captain, we're doing it. We're pulling away!"
Captain Kirk:" What happened?"
Scotty: "It's no good, sir. Only a few systems responding. Captain, we pulled away a little, we gained ... maybe an hour ... but we blew almost every system in the ship doing it. There's nothing left to try again. I guess you'll have to fire me, sir."
Captain Kirk: "Scotty, You're fired. 400 people ..."
Dr McCoy: "Jim ..."
Captain Kirk: "They'll die because I couldn't see a warning sign. I had to follow orders, always orders."

Captain Picard: "No! No! I will not sacrifice the Enterprise. We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds and we fall back. Not again! The line must be drawn here! This far, no further! And I will make them pay for what they've done!"

Klingon Kruge:"We may have dealt him a more serious blow than I thought."

Klingon Torg: "How can you tell that?"

Klingon Kruge: "I trust my instincts."

Klingon Kruge: "Admiral Kirk. This is your opponent speaking. Do not lecture me about treaty violations. The Federation, in creating an ultimate weapon, has become a gang of Intergalactic criminals. It is not I who will surrender, it is you. On the planet below, I have three prisoners from the team who developed your doomsday weapon. If you do not surrender immediately, I will execute them, one at a time, as enemies of galactic peace."

Captain Jean Luc Picard: "Oh, fascinating. Twenty particles of space dust per cubic meter, 52 ultraviolet radiation spikes, and a class-2 comet. Well, this is certainly worthy of our attention.
